Just when it looked like things were going to finally work out for Damon, his "fool-proof" plan to exchange Rayna's life for Bonnie's took an unexpected detour... as in even though Bonnie's safe, she's now a super-powered vampire-killing machine. Next week, Damon, Stefan, and the rest of the gang deal with the fallout of last night's events by running for their lives with Bonnie hot on their trail and things are looking especially bad for Damon & Caroline. THE PLAN TO SAVE BONNIE TAKES AN UNEXPECTED TURN IN THIS EPISODE DIRECTED BY PAUL WESLEY — When Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) risky attempt to save Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes an unexpected turn, the consequences of his actions forces everyone to band together to help her pull through. Meanwhile, when a new threat leaves Caroline’s (Candice King) life in jeopardy, Stefan (Paul Wesley) makes a rash decision that ultimately forces them to face the fallout from their relationship. Elsewhere, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) tries to hold it together as he painfully watch Bonnie in the fight of her life, while Matt (Zach Roerig) takes matters into his own hands to save one of his closest friends. Matt Davis also stars. Paul Wesley directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Neil Reynolds (#721).
Get ready for more epic thrills and romance in the seventh season of The Vampire Diaries. After saying an emotional goodbye to Elena Gilbert, some characters will recover while others falter and Bonnie, in particular, will explore her new lease on life. As Damon and Stefan’s mother, Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), tries to drive a wedge between the Salvatore brothers, hope remains that Stefan and Caroline’s love story is tough enough to survive. Damon will do whatever it takes to take down his mother and her band of Heretics, and Enzo will struggle with where his loyalties lie. Plus, with Mystic Falls in disarray and the arrival of the Heretics — who are set on retaliation and mayhem — the suspense will be stronger than ever.
