VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Clip Reveals Cletus Kasady's Violent Transformation Into Carnage

Today is "Venom Day," and Sony Pictures has kicked things off with a brand new clip from Venom: Let There Be Carnage showing the moment Cletus Kasady undergoes his monstrous transformation into Carnage.

With Venom: Let There Be Carnage set to arrive in theaters on Thursday evening, Sony Pictures has kicked the week off with what they're calling "Venom Day." We're not entirely sure what's to come, but we're starting with a new clip highlighting the moment Cletus Kasady becomes Carnage.

Set to be executed for the many people he's killed, Cletus starts undergoing a monstrous transformation when the poison meant to end his life starts coursing through his bloodstream.

With that, Carnage is born and it spells doom for everyone in the immediate vicinity! We know from previous promos that Cletus bites Eddie Brock's finger and winds up with a piece of the Venom symbiote, so this moment is obviously a result of that action. This is a departure from the comic books, of course, but not one significant enough to upset even the biggest of Carnage fans.

There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the introduction of Carnage, especially after Riot so massively underwhelmed in 2018's Venom. Hopefully, even with that PG-13 rating, we'll get to see this iteration of the villain - who is making his live-action debut - really let loose in the sequel.

Check out the new clip from Venom: Let There Be Carnage in the player below:

"Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters," reads a brief synopsis that was released on the movie's website (where you can now purchase tickets for the movie). "Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage."

As noted, Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. It's set to be released in theaters on October 1, 2021.

@DoubleD - Never read it, but I did watch the 90s Spiderman cartoon. That’s why I love the Mysterio scene so much, Felt like a live action cartoon. Still, I can understand disappointment, I can also understand giving up on comic book accuracy. It is nice when you see it though!

@DoubleD - I basically decided to become a cbm fan more than cb, which wasn’t too hard because growing up in New Orleans and the Mississippi gulf coast, comics weren’t just everywhere. I actually started reading em more in my 20s abd up when I could just go to Barnes and nobles or BAM but especially: the library. Because the library started intentionally having THE comics based on the popular movies. And I read that iron man one with the suicide bombers, and Siege, and Dark Avengers and Civil War and Winter Soldier, and more, all before those movies came out, and I realized what a grave mistake I’d made. I knew too much! Forget that they weren’t 100% accurate, I knew the Bucky reveal! THAT SUCKED. I didn’t know anything about previous to that. On the other hand I read TWD and enjoyed it and the show as two different yet similar stories… til I got bored.

@TheWalkingCuban - One thing Marvel Studios failed at is comic book accuracy.

This was a little fast paced. Villain's first transformation happened in like 15 seconds.
