Now that his supporting cast members have all been announced - including Jim Carrey as the villainous Doctor Robotnik - Variety has revealed who'll be voicing Sonic The Hedgehog in Paramount's upcoming live-action/CGI hybrid film.

Actor/comedian/director Ben Schwartz, who is best known for his hilarious guest appearances as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on the sitcom Parks and Recreation, will bring the titular blue speedster to life on the big screen.

Plot details are sparse, but we so know that the Sega video game adaptation will see the super-fast Erinaceinae attempting to "stop Dr. Eggman from completing his plans for world domination." No big surprises there.

The movie will be helmed by first-time feature director Jeff Fowler, who is known for the 2005 Oscar-nominated short Gopher Broke. Neal H. Moritz will produce, with Deadpool director Tim Miller on board as an executive producer along with Toby Ascher.

Sonic the Hedgehog is set to spin into theaters Nov. 15, 2019.

@L0RDbuckethead - That movie absolutely kills me in any given moment of it! From Christinith, to Jersey Boys, to Michael Keaton why is quietly the funniest person in the movie. I quote that movie endlessly.
"We will construct a series of breathing apparatus with kelp. We will be able to trap certain amounts of oxygen. It's not gonna be days at a time. An hour? Hour forty-five? No problem."

I've actually been watching Sonic Boom lately (I needed something to cleanse the palate after the utter disappointment and depression of the Sopranos), and blown away to find that it's actually goddamn decent.

Even better, I've learned that there is an internet culture of people who draw animated gifs of silly Sonic run-cycles. Way to go, Internet, you did it.

Am I the only one that gets the feeling that Robotnik and Sonic are gonna be the only characters from the games in this?

What is with Ben Schwartz and getting himself cast as characters associated with the color blue in some way shape or form in nostalgic properties?! Is blue his favorite color or what?

I don't mind Ben Schwartz's casting here since I like the guy based on the things I've seen him in (DUCKTALES).

I'm just curious about this recent trend of his and why that is a trend of his as of late?
