Alright, aside from Chun-Li and a crappy version of Vega, how can this actually be even remotely related to Street Fighter in ANY way??? Double Dragon/Super Mario Bros. all over again. This trailer made Dragonball Evolution look like an amazing adaptation, not an easy task to accomplish. By "adaptation" standards, Van Damme's version was a hell of a lot more accurate than this one. And it sucked.

Maybe they are re-doin the street fighter story. They should because its already weak. Tekken has the best story.

THE FIRST ONE WAS SO BAD, YET THEY DID HAVE CHARACTERS AND LOOKS THAT CAME CLOSE TO THE GAME.IM ON THE FENCE WITH THIS, IT COULD BE GOOD OR REALLY BAD, BUT LETS HOPE THEY LEARNED FROM THE LAST ONE.I DID SEE CHUN LI IN HER ORIGINAL UNIFORM, SO THATS A PLUS.BALROG IS DEAD ON.SOME MOVIES TAKE LIBERTIES TO CHANGE YET STAY TRUE TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL, DARKNIGHT TOOK LIBERTIES AND IT WORKED, I'LL WAIT TO JUDGE THIS ONE.

SHAMAN-

How can you tell so much about the story from a choppy trailer we couldn't even understand? The wire work did look terrible at best but as for the story, I think we will have to wait a lil while before we can rip the movies' storyline....

My main problem is why do they keep mis-casting M. Bison?!? Seriously, how hard is it?

Big Guy, Dark Features, Glowing eyes! Not someone who is...

1. 115lb (Soaking Wet), and unathletic. (Yes, I know he was sick and later died but if I'm the director, I'd have made changes or not picked him in the first place).

2. Blonde with blue eyes and is only 6ft tall (unless the rest of the cast is going to be 5'7" and under, which they clearly are not).


M. Bison should be VERY physically imposing, and so smart he's gone mad! That's why he's a great villian, because he has both attributes.

I'll post back when I can think of a better pick, any ideas???

this could be ok i think...Kreuk is a good actress, although it befuddles me why they cast a girl that looks vaguely chinese instead of a chinese girl! Zhang Zihi from hero and crouching tiger would have been perfect.

talontd, are you sure the blond dude is supposed to be bison? the only other character i recognised was vega because of the claw on his hand

ROFLMAO, is it just me or are they making the same mistakes they did in the 90s? I mean is this for real? I've seen better fan made stuff.

This looks awful, DB evolution looks awful, apparently 2009 will be plagued by bad bad movies. Then they think that economic cooldown is the reason for flopping movies.

Lol, next year around this time, we'll probably be voting on the worst movie of 2009. Two strong nominees have already surfaced.

Since when was Chun-Li EVER cool enough to get her own [frick]ing movie?! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE! Yea, the animated stuff is kind of cool. But they murdered the film possibilities with that atrocity of a movie. It's not the character I feel sorry for in M. Bison, it's Raul Julia I felt sorry for, that being his last role in a film. DAAAAAAMN I bet he died extremely unpleased with that mess. RIP Raul Julia.

Also, Kirsten Kruek? Really? She's hot, yea. THAT'S IT. She's not Chun-Li. That's for sure. I'd rather have seen Lady Deathstrike as Chun Li. Really though, it didn't look THAT bad. Michael Clark Duncan, AW YEA! Who cares anymore anyway? Are they done making Street Fighter II games yet? They made a dozen of them. Time to change the number people, find a new character. I'd rather see a movie about Dhalsim or Sagat or the Succubus from Night Stalkers.

all of you hardcore critics make me laugh. So much for maintaining an open mind about anything, I bet most of you would prefer van damme in this one as well, because he made such an awesome Guile right? When are people like you going to get a life? Its a movie for entertainment purposes only. I would be more concerned of a historical adaptation of a prominent figure in history, than a make believe video game character. LMAO Turn off the super nintendo street fighter game put away the vaseline get out of your parents basements, and get a life.

Knuteak, i'm an independant, hard working, father of two who just happens to love video games and comic books and have a strong opinion about the shitty movies they make out of them.

And i didn't say that this movie would be worse than Van Damme's, i said it wouldn't be an "as good" ADAPTATION. The word adaptation means to take the original "game" in this case, and adapt it in a movie. And judging by the trailer we saw, the idiotic M.Bison they chose and the discrace they made of Vega, the only good thing about this movie is their depiction of Chun-Li and Balrog which are both stupid characters to begin with. They don't seem to realise that what sold this game for generations is RYU and KEN fighting Bison and Akuma. First, they make a stupid movie about Guile and then they make an even more stupid movie about Chun-Li. they'll never get it. Ion is so right, she doesn't deserve a movie. Darkstalkers would make a better one than this.

And just to let you guys know, STREET FIGHTER 4 is coming out for PS3 and it's gonna kick ass!!!

mmmm, I thought I had a life. If I get one how does it look like? how much is it worth? will it be shiny and new? are my friends who I see every weekend and get some beers not part of my life? is my job not part of a life? is my girlfriend not a part of my life?

For someone that claims to be open minded, Knuteak... you are very quick to judge, just because someone doesn't like what they do to creations they love, that means they live in their parents basement? does that mean they have no life? (I was breathing and my heart was beating, last time I checked)

Hollywood has a record of destroying stories to make them appeal to a wider audience, love interests are created, conflicts are made, visulas are tampered. If you want to learn history, movies are not the way to go, usually that is why they wait a long time to make a historic interpretation, so no one can remember how it really was and bitch about it. As for stories we grew up on, is it bad if we comment our opinions about it, does that make us lifeless basement dwellers?

Even if every poster here was a Hikikimori(which I seriously doubt), they do have a life. It may differ from your lifestyle and your choices, but that doesn't mean you have to bash on us. I think that religion is a waste of time, but I don't think that every religious person is a lifeless loser that goes to church every sunday, it just differs from the choices I make and I respect the choices and decisiions everyone makes.

Rehash of the first movie made in the 90s. It almost makes one cry since the Capcom name is associated with it. What a shame. Oh, well. The real debate is whether Kreuk will be worse than Jean Claude Van Damme. My Japanese is a little rusty, but I'm pretty sure he was saying something along the lines of, "Do not see this movie. It is ultimate fail. The story is really bad. The acting is really bad. Do not waste your money. Also, put a squid ending on Watchment." Roughly speaking. Granted, I haven't studied Japanese in seven or eight months though. If this isn't worse than SF from the 90s, then it is definitely on par with Mortal Kombat II: Annihilation.

Yes, I think we can tell from this trailer. Not ten seconds either. Got a whole minute out of it. Movies seem to put plenty enough in their trailers nowadays, for me at least, to really tell whether it is going to be a flop or not. The action in this film will just be a vamped up version of what was delivered in the 90s because I think movies are a little more demanding for today's audience. Story-wise... casting-wise... there is just no way that it will be executed well. They tried to hit, and they clearly missed. And, yes, I am a git. Only a tad bit cynical. I might be less so if Watchmen had a squid ending.... In all honesty, this looks like the free Korean MMORPG of movies. It will be fun to some places and the hardcore, but it will not do well for the masses.

Street Fighter sucked. The games are decent for the most part. Chun Li doesn't deserve her own movie. The only time Street Fighter should be a movie is in animated form, so it doesn't look completely cheese dyck.
