I really liked that review. It was not over the top fawning for this movie like I have read from other reviews trying to put in in the same space as the Nolan films. It is a safe "by the numbers" comic book film that in someways redeems DC but in other ways puts an exclamation point on what they did wrong. Obviously, they SHOULD have started with the solo films...they SHOULD have had their heroes be heroes...and they SHOULD have taken their time to ensure the films quality matched its potential.

Sadly...I don't think this movie can save the DCEU. The universe they have established is already irreparably ruined and it threatens to pull down any goodwill that Wonder Woman might generate. It is hard to understand why no one thought that female led superhero films could be good or profitable. Outside of superhero films there have been successes such as Tomb Raider, the Underworld movies and Resident Evil films that have had female leads...not to mention Star Wars: Force Awakens and on television Supergirl.

But at least there is now a bit of a template that will hopefully shake loose more female led superhero stories.

@Forthas - Thanks, good thoughts. I agree :) Here's hoping that TFA and WW can pave the way for big studios to see and that there are more great things to come
