The early-summer China release schedule has been unveiled and it's looking like Hollywood is gearing up to have one of its best summers yet as five of this summer's biggest potential blockbusters have just landed simultaneous release dates in the Middle Kingdom. This latest development should help U.S.-based studios build on what is already turning into a historic year at the worldwide box office.

20th Century Fox's Alien: Covenant has been slated for May 19 while Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which recently cleared Chinese censors, will open May 26.

Moving into the next month, Warner Bros.' latest DC film, Wonder Woman, will open June 2, followed by Universal's The Mummy, which stars international superstar Tom Cruise, on June 9, and Paramount's Transformers: The Last Knight, which hopes to top the record-setting $320 million haul of its 2014 predecessor, on June 23.

Additionally, ahead of these bid-budget debuts, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was previously confirmed for May 5, while both Warner Bros.' King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Lionsgate's Power Rangers have been confirmed for May 12.

So far, in 2017, The Fate of the Furious ($190M), xXx: The Return of Xander Cage ($164M), Kong: Skull Island ($161M), Resident Evil: The Final Chapter ($159.5M), Logan ($105M), and Beauty and the Beast ($85M) have all benefitted significantly from the Chinese box office and it's hard not to imagine that the coming summer releases won't fair similarly, if not, even better, which likely means that Hollywood is in for quite the fruitful summer.
