Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Under Evaluation By Disney According To X-MEN Producer

X-Men: Apocalypse director and Gambit co-writer Simon Kinberg wasn't willing to completely write off the possibility of Channing Tatum's passion project receiving the green light from Disney and Marvel.

Disney's acquisition of Fox is now final and with that development, a whole host of in-development X-Men spinoff films suddenly find themselves in limbo. Though Disney's Bob Iger has suggested that Fox would continue to produce films under its own banner, it's been confirmed that the X-Men (and Fantastic Four) are now firmly under the direction of Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios.

Recently, X-Men: Apocalypse director Simon Kinberg attended the red carpet premiere for Jordan Peele's reboot of The Twilight Zone, where he was asked about the status of Gambit.

"All of the movies at Fox are being evaluated.  I love the idea of Channing playing Gambit. I think we have a great script for it and I think it’s a role he was born to play.  It’s a character I grew up loving and I know the fans love. So I suspect, I hope it will happen. There will be a lot of mixing and merging now and I’m all for it and excited to see."

Do you think a solo Gambit film will be released in the near future? And if so, do you believe Feige and Marvel would keep Tatum on in the role? Share your thoughts in the usual spot below.

Kinberg is just sad to see his fat producer's fees for the Fox-Men films drying up. He knows damn well that Feige is going to reboot everything but Deadpool, which makes him and all of his awful spinoff plans redundant. When Marvel Studios finally adapts Gambit, he's probably not getting a solo film and will be part of the team instead. That's how it should be.

Kinda funny that Deadpool is the only character that can survive the Disney snap and exist in both universes.

@jerryblake - I mean, he’s the only character in the MCU that can kill three people with one bullet. Even assassins like Bucky and Natasha can kill multiple people in a sing....oh shit. Forgot about Thanos. My bad.

Doubt it. But hope so.

Better than a Gambit movie is a MCU Gambit movie.

I know almost nobody wants this film.

But..... if anyone could make it work it would be Feige and his team. They've turned worse ideas and actors into legit wins.
