GAMBIT Finally Gets A New Filming Start But When Will We Find Out Who Is Directing The Movie?

Gambit might be the most delayed superhero movie of all-time but a new report reveals when cameras are currently expected to start rolling and that points to the director being revealed any day now...

Gambit was supposed to be released way back in 2016 but after losing multiple directors and hitting roadblock after roadblock, it finally appears as if the Marvel Comics adaptation from Fox is finally beginning to come together. According to a new report, the studio has set a new production start date for June 19th in New Orleans, Louisiana (which is, of course, Remy LeBeau's hometown in the comics).

It's also said that the X-Men spinoff will film at Big Easy Studios, the same place Logan was shot. Now that a new start date has been set, you have to believe that Fox has found a director for the project.

When we'll learn that filmmaker's identity remains to be seen but a cast still needs to be put together before June so they're going to have their work cut out for them. With the Disney/Fox deal still set to be finalised next year, it's also possible that Disney will pull the plug on the movie if it isn't finished by the time it goes through so the fate of Gambit is now very much up in the air for the time being!

Are you hoping the movie becomes a reality or do you really not care? Let us know down below.

OMG I'm so excited for this movie, even though I don't really know this character. But I'm sure it's gonna be great. Gambit FTW :)

That is some commitment there. They really want this movie to happen. It could be a really fun movie.

Without the name of the director, I don't care about this movie...

I am sure it has some good potential tho and Tatum can be a good actor in some movies

Could Josh have picked a worse picture of Gambit? Of all the pictures, on all of the internet, he picks skinny, horseface Gambit? Anyway, this movie is never happening so why even bother with the stories anymore?

Why is Fox continuing to do these stupid movies if they are in the middle of a deal with Marvel? What is the purpose of this? Am i the only one who is confused by why and how these Fox movies are still getting made?!!!!

@Frshcoupe - From what I have read about mergers; what the studio who is being bought will do is develop a bunch of projects, to pack their upcoming production slate. This will supposedly boost their companies market value thus driving up their asking price. It seems very counter intuitive but, thats why I don't run a movie studio.

@Frshcoupe - Well it's because the deal isn't finalized, and if for some reason it doesn't happen, then Fox would lose out big time.

@Deonox - Right, to just cancel movie after movie based off a deal that may or may not happen is bad business. The show must go on (or at least get delayed lol) until it is official.
