Liev Schreiber Confirms That He's Had Talks About Returning As 'Sabertooth' In THE WOLVERINE Sequel

So far any discussion about Schreiber reprising the role of Victor Creed has been rumor or wishful thinking - but last night on the Oscars red carpet the actor implied that it really is a possibility...

Though X-Men Origins: Wolverine is pretty much universally despised, the general consensus seems to be that Liev Schreiber's Victor Creed/Sabertooth was one of its saving graces. Fans have been hoping to see the Ray Donovan actor return for what will be Hugh Jackman's final time in the claws, but up until now that's never really looked very likely to happen.

However, Schrieber seems to have given fans fresh hope that Logan will once again come face-to-face with his most notorious nemesis. "We talked about it," he told MTV News last night on the red carpet of the Academy Awards. "I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word."

Not a guarantee he'll return by any means, but it's good to know that Jackman has reached out to him and it's something he'd like to happen - and if the new Wolverine flick really does wind up with that R rating, we could see these feral foes engage in a seriously bloody battle or two.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Creed return, or is it best to leave all remnants of Origins buried in the past?

Well, he was literally the only good thing from Origins, so I'm all for it.

Plus this view of Schreiber looks just like Sabertooth in one of the comic I have.

This would make the wolverine canon... as "in your face" canon. I'd rather have everything from that movie as something that may or may have not have happened.

I'm fine with that if they at least put some effort into making him look like the Sabertooth from the comics and appear bigger than Jackman (in Origins Hugh looked bigger then him, which is just wrong). If they can make humans look like 3 foot tall Hobbits, I'm sure they can give Liv long dirty blonde hair and make him appear a foot taller then Jackman. Do that, give me a bloody claw battle between the two and I'm sold!

@Buckster10 - I agree.... The acting was great. Combine X-Mens Sabretooth look, which Liev Shriebers acting.... then you really have something there.
