For almost 2 decades, Hugh Jackman has played one of the most iconic comic book characters of all time and has given it his all in his 8 appearances as The Wolverine - even when the movies themselves sometimes left something to be desired. It's been well documented that James Mangold's Logan marks the Aussie actor's final time in the claws, but he certainly sends Wolvie out with a bang.

By way of tribute, the DC and Marvel World Facebook page (via WGTC) has put together a video which mashes up footage from Jackman's debut as Wolverine in the first X-Men right up to his swansong as old man Logan, all set to the melancholy strains of Johhny Cash's cover of "Hurt."

Check out the video below. Please also take the time to vote in our poll, and be sure to let us know what you thought of Logan in more detail in the usual place.

Fantastic movie. Even though Hugh is leaving, I hope James Mangold makes another X-flick.

Amazing film. Only TDK might've been better, and even about that I'm not sure. I can't think of a single real problem I had with the movie. I mean, literally the only thing I didn't like while watching it was the stupid face the mutant who controls plants was making when she helped kill Pierce... and when that's my biggest problem with a movie, I know it's good.

Minor gripe but are we not including his cameo in First Class? Cus he's appeared in 9 movies, the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, & his own trilogy.

@RorMachine - Ah got it. Well in any case, I thought the movie was great but incredibly depressing lol. Looking forward to more X-23 in the future for sure.

Very good. A few minor issues, but highly enjoyable overall.

9/10.

I am already missing Hugh Jackman's Logan and Sir Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier.

X.
