Sir Patrick Stewart Open To Making An Appearance On LEGION & Possibly In DEADPOOL 2

Even though he very recently said Logan would be his final time playing Professor X, it sounds like Sir Patrick Stewart may actually be open to doing a little more with the character. Come take a look!

Logan was the perfect ending for Hugh Jackman's legendary journey as Wolverine and also proved to be quite the finale for the original X-Men trilogy as a whole with Professor X also bidding farewell in devastating fashion.

Around a week before release, Sir Patrick Stewart officially announced that Logan would not only be Jackman's final time playing his most famous character but would also be his final time in the wheelchair, playing the X-Men patriarch. Now, considering how the film ends, his decision to retire from the franchise seemed fitting as the world bids farewell to both fan-favorites and begins to look ahead to a whole new era of X-Men films.

However, judging by a recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Stewart may not be as done with the character as we've previously been led to believe as he vaguely hinted that he's heard something may be in the works for the good Professor in the upcoming Deadpool sequel and while, he wasn't at liberty to say much more, it did seem like he knew a little more than he was letting on. The conversation proceeded to get even more interesting a short while later when fellow guest Dan Stevens chimed in, suggesting that instead of Deadpool 2, Professor X could make a very interesting appearance on his hit FX series Legion - where he stars as Charles Xavier's biological son David Haller - and received a very enthusiastic response from both Stewart and the audience.

Now, while this is far from any sort of confirmation, it's certainly an interesting idea and could conceivably work considering that Logan takes place twelve years into the future and Deadpool & Legion both (presumably) take place in the present day.

Check out the exchange, which begins around the 3:00 mark, in the clip below:

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border.

But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

@PicolasCage - Not unless Deadpool and Cable travel through time.

@Gandressmex - hopefully not, it would do Stewart and the character to a disservice to have him appear again

@PicolasCage - Assuming Deadpool and Logan are part of the main series (I see logan as a "what if" film), with Deadpool set in 2016 ish then Professor X would still be alive.

@StormXmen123 - respectfully, I highly doubt it's just a what if movie. Fox sees the popularity of X23. To capitalize on that success and incorporate that actress into future films (which they will) the continuity of Logan has to be tied to the other films

@StormXmen123 - Wasn't it already said multiple times that Deadpool is its own universe? I mean the DP Colossus and the main X-Movies are obviously different.

@PicolasCage - I mean Logan takes place in the future and the other movies take place in the past or present, so it wouldn't contradict anything. Logan would still be the end of his story.

@Termin8er - but it's rumored (and likely imo) that X23 will be in Xforce. A movie which is said to have DP and/or cable in it too. That movie would have to be post Logan, because otherwise X23 being there story and age-wise wouldn't make sense

@PicolasCage - Give Cable travels in time, he could possibly travel to altenate realities (assuming Logan is one) and bring X-23 into the main series.
