There's Only One Way Hugh Jackman Returns As WOLVERINE And It Involves...Homework

Hugh Jackman comments on the one similarity between Wolverine and Batman while jokingly revealing that he straps his adamantium claws back on when his kids don't get their homework done on time.

In a comedic interview with the Scottish television program Lorraine Kelly's ITV Breakfast Show to promote The Greatest Showman, X-Men actor Hugh Jackman has revealed that he still has one of his Wolverine costumes at home, claws and all.  He puts it on from time to time and for a very specific reason however, Jackman cautions that his self cosplay doesn't mean he'll be reappearing in a Fox X-Men movie anytime soon.

"[Wolverine’ll] come back, just not with me. Well, except on Saturday nights at my house. I dress up! When my kids are not doing their homework, I dress up and the claws come out [laughs]. I just have to do that [raise an eyebrow] with the claws and it works!  Definitely someone else will play the role [of Wolverine], it’s a great role. You know, it’s like a Bond or it’s like a Batman, those kinds of roles. Other people will play him for sure."

The question on everyone's mind is just how soon?  Can Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool take over the key slot occupied in Fox's X-Men Cinematic Universe by Jackman for so long? If X-Men: Dark Phoenix flops and Deadpool 2 performs as well as the first film, expect the saucy mercenary to become even more prevalent in Fox's Marvel brand.  Perhaps he'll even cameo in that rumored Fantastic Four reboot?
