Hugh Jackman Drops Out Of a role To Bulk Up For Wolverine 2

Hugh Jackman Drops Out Of a role To Bulk Up For Wolverine 2

Skipping "Avon" to return as X-Man

It seems as though Jackman has dropped out of 20th Century Fox's comedy known as "Avon Man" a movie in which he was set to star. "Avon Man" will be directed by Kevin Lima. Jackman is not severing all ties to the comedy as it seems he still has a spot as a producer on the film. Jackman will star in the sequel to box-office hit "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as the fan favorite titular character Wolverine. Jackman will spend most of the fall season getting in shape for the still director-less Wolverine sequel. The movie is set to take place in Japan where Wolverine spent many key years in the comics. The script is being written by Christopher McQuarrie. Expect "X-Men Origins Wolverine 2" in 2012.

I hope he doesn't bulk up too much.Wolverine needs to be quick and agile, and will hopefully learn some martial arts in this film.While the comic book and cartoon version has a lot of muscle, an actor carrying around that much weight/muscle would be very slow.

@MTL, i c wut u did thur!

Thank god though, this means they are serious about the sequel coming out :) Which also confirms that if Wolverine 2 is in production, First Class is definitely not a reboot, people can stop bitching about seeing the "original five" now.

That's great that Jackman wants to bulk up for the movie. However doesn't this mess up continuity in the X-Men movies??? After all First class comes out next year right? If First Class bombs, why bother with an Wolverine 2????????????????

You've Been UNMASKED!!!

Option A) Pay Fox a large fee to gain the rights back, and then pay to make a new movie that might not earn back all it's costs.

Option B) Let Fox pay for the whole film, and still earn half the box office take in royalties.

Poor Disney. Tough Decision.

@Unmasked
XMO: Wolverine took place fifteen years before the first of the X-films.
Prof. Xavier stated that Logan lived from day to day and traveled from place to place during that fifteen year gap.
and seeing as how Wolvie is not involved in First Class, there should be no reason fo errors in conitnuity.
except for the absences of Cyclops, Jean, and Storm who have not been casted as of yet.
i am having serious doubts that First Class will be released on schedule.

@Wadey Thanks dude!

I was so confused. I knew that fox were saying that they wanted to go back to their X2 roots. So I thought Wolverine would be in the mix.(mentioned, cameo)

Also now that we're talking about fox. What about Daredevil? When will the rights end for that movie? I think that Daredevil being in the Marvel Movie-verse would be sick!!!

According to Fox, they plan to move ahead with another Daredevil movie, along with their Fantastic Four movie.They said all their characters will be a part of the same continuity.

They need to get somebody like Kevin Feige and the guys who are starting the DC shared universe to take care of the franchise. If not, of course there's going to be continuity errors. It needs to be someone who knows a good movie and knows this universe, but can be dedicated to having a producer role in all the movies.

Can we please get some blood in this one?! I mean how is he stabbing people in the face and cutting their guts open yet, there's no blood on his claws. WTF! Wolverine is a nasty bad-ass MOFO, we need this to be reflected in the films.

Characters I think will show up in Wolverine 2.

Wolverine - obviously
Sabertooth - most likely
Mariko - obvious, from the story they're telling
Shingen - Mariko's father and villain of the story
Silver Samurai - Mariko's brother, Silver Samurai
Sunfire - Mariko's cousin, so it fits
Ogun - trained Logan, so he could show up
Matsu'o - Hand ninja responsible for Mariko's death
Kwannon - Matsuo's lover
Psylocke - it fits, as she has ties with Matsuo, Kwannon and the Hand.
Stick - maybe, he has ties to Wolverine and the Hand
Yukio - works for Shingen

I hope they do a more visceral and edgy work this time around.

I was Thoroughly Disappointed emotionally with Wolverine Origins. The Action was pretty good, the Dialogue was Perfect, the character design was decent........but PG-13? Really? In a Movie about "Stabbing and Slashing" Weapons? Really? No Blood or Dismemberment? It made a much sense as if 'Nightmare on Elm Street' would have been PG-13 (thank goodness it wasn't!).
Even the Weapon-X and many Wolverine Comic Books could have been worthy of a hearty R-rating if followed frame-by-frame.

I hope that the next one is a little better in that respect.
