Man, they changed his origin again! They made Logan and Dog blood brothers. Well, if it helps deliver the story better, im up for it. I juz hope they didnt change the origin for no reason at all.

James' dad looks like Jackman too and Dog's dad looks like Liv as well!

What the hell is this bullshit??? The experiment gave him the claws. He never had them as a kid!!!!! [frick] this stupid shit. [frick]ing Hollywood. Always screwing shit up!!!! Mother[frick]ers!

During the retcon for Wolvie's origin in the comics, they said that he had the claws even as a child, but he could not control them very well. Due to the mind-altering effect of the Weapon X process (plus his own healing abilities), he essentially forgot he had the claws and assumed they were a side effect.

They have also hinted that Logan was Wolvie's real father, and that Dog was his brother, but Dog blamed Wolvie for Logan's death and wanted to kill him.

A lot of fans have also assumed that Dog turns out to be Sabretooth, but that has never been officially called as far as I can remember.

So instead of just hints, shadowing, and assumed references, it looks like this movie just tries to come right out and say things point blank.

Oh... and sweet trailer. :)

Mattlask it's been said by Quagmire14 but you are WRONG! I am SOOOOOOOOO pleased they are showing his bone claws in this movie along with his true name "James Howlett".

Looks like so called fans like Mattlask who think his claws are only from his experiment and that Logan is his real name will be in for an education.

Kudos to the script writers!

Love the Trailer!!! I like the fact that they are staying tru to the comics. Thats how is should of been all along instead of that X3 fiasco they called a movie. Love the bone claws. But who is the guy that killed young logan's father?? the guy who looks like Liev. Im pretty confused on that one.

I like that they're showing his origin with the bone claws and everything but i just HATE the fact that they're having Dog/Sabretooth help James/Wolverine. In the comic, James slashed the shit out of Dog's face and Dog killed James'dog, threatened to kill Rose, threatened to kill James and almost succeeded at the end. Don't get me wrong, I think that this movie is going to be freaking amazing but i just think that they're toying around with the story too much.
CrookedJaw
CrookedJaw - 2/16/2009, 7:16 AM
I agree that the toying with the story is becoming a bit too much, but they do have sabertooth hating Logan at the end, and vice versa. They're fighting and such and are look like they want to kill each other...so it should all turn around in the end...hopefully...I'm not too worried about it
kingradon
kingradon - 2/16/2009, 7:17 AM
so i feel like their gonna make dog sabretooth.... and wolverine's brother?..... i just don't know about that.
JamesH
JamesH - 2/16/2009, 7:40 AM
Ok... for Mattlask and everyone else who doenst know what were talking about here:

Howletts - rich family with James(Wolvie) as their Son
Logan - Howlett's servant... groundkeeper i think
Dog - Son of Logan who's a lil bit older than James; may or may not be Sabertooth

Well, if they do change the history a bit and make Logan as James' father and Dog as Sabertooth, thats very acceptable and great for the story actually. Makes new fans understand why Sabes and Wolvie more or less got the same powers and that their history is a veeeeerrryyy llooooong one.

Damn, everything ive seen about this movie has been GREAT so far and i hope this scores big in the box office!
JuneTheMachine
JuneTheMachine - 2/16/2009, 7:51 AM
itll score big in the box office no doubt, because Wolvie is popular. The real test is, will it score in the box office like, 3 weeks and 4 weeks after the initial opening. Thatll show if its good or not. But the opening weekend should be killer.

VenomIsOnMyRibs - 2/16/2009, 8:03 AM
Looks really good, very pleasing so far.

What the hell is with the 'grif' guy though he's always bashing shit. I wonder what does it take to make him happy about any movie, otherwise why the hell do you just comment synicaly and negatively.

Great stuff, i saw the trailer in the cinema for the first time last night and im very frakkin exited for this now. As falcon x2 said, they are just taking the rumors and hints and making them rock solid, and they are doing this because it makes for a better, more dramatic story!
JuneTheMachine
JuneTheMachine - 2/16/2009, 8:17 AM
hey u cant please everyone, especially some of these 40yr-old-virgin- type geeks. Itll be good, even if the story is slightly(if it even is slightly) different. I love to see how some of u "experts" draw your conclusions from the previews that r like, a minute, if thaT. Let the movie come out, then you can critisize properly.

PS> This movie is going to be Epic. Everyone is waiting for a "dark knight" type of movie. This may be one of them...
realfirstavenger
realfirstavenger - 2/16/2009, 8:28 AM
as long as they stay close to the source material
and have some kick ass wolverine action i think this movie is going to be amazing
my only issue is the look of sabretooth, i mean he doenst look BAD but i do wish they would have made him look a little more like he does in the comics

i hope they pull off Gambit, i am more than excited for that aspect of the movie

MATTLASK-

Well you've gotta be feelin pretty dumb by now so I guess i'll just leave it alone, lol. ;-)

VENOMISONMYRIBS-

Hang around here for awhile, you'll learn to just ignore GRIF, SUPERMIKE, and the other chronic haters.

REALFIRSTAVENGER-

I'm with you, I wish that they could somehow make Liev look like the sabertooth from X1, yet somehow maintain his acting ability! The only problem with Jackman is that he's too damn tall!! But i couldn't imagine anyone else as Wolvie, he's awesome!

But to the point, I'm so amped about Gambit in this movie (even tho i'm aware it's not his). I'm praying that he gets an Origins Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it could be that the footage in the trailer, of when hes a kid, is some dream or something he has after they give him the claws.
ComicMans1234
ComicMans1234 - 2/16/2009, 9:36 AM
i still cant wait for this movie. 2009 is going to be the year for awesome movies. although 2008 was a great year for comic book movies, I hope 09 does as well.

PS. I want Watchmen to get Dark Knight status.!
Matowar

His claws have always been a bit of a mystery. If you all remember back just after Giant size X-men when the new team was put together Wolverine and Banshee have a bit of a conversation. Wolverines costume gets destroyed so he kills that one guy that has what looks like shark teeth for a collar and takes his costume. He then proceeds to pop his claws out and Banshee is freaked out becuase he thought his claws were in the suit. This was the first time that they let people know that his claws were part of him and not the suit. I'll go look back in my comics to get the exact issue number incase anyone is wondering.

i hate the fact that they just reveal wolverines whole history. His past was always a mystery until recently. but anyway back to the trailer. he pops his claws like thirty times in this trailer alone and we see no blood at all? WTF?
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 2/16/2009, 10:05 AM
Sonny, It was Dougray Scott, who imo has the acting ability and charisma of a turnip so i was delighted he was replaced, even though i hadnt heard of Jackman at the time

Does the guy who plays Logans real father look big enough to have played Sabertooth too! I really hope Liev's performance makes up for the size of Sabertooth issue. Really i do. I just cant forget how much i loved anything Comic/Live Action my whole life so i am very please with all the movies as a whole. Except Ghost Rider omg that was crap!!!
JamesH
JamesH - 2/16/2009, 11:13 AM
The first time the bone claws were introduced was not in Origins but during Magneto stripped off all of the adamantium from Logans body.

As for his Origin, ORIGIN was released sometime 2001-2 and it showed where he really came from. Wolvie's past has been messed up since the 80's and every few months it gets rewritten that some fans got tired of the shtick. Having a mystery is great but when that mystery has dragged o for 20-30 years, that's too much even for a comic book fan.

Despite the majority who prefer his origins clouded, im glad Marvel released this well written masterpiece with art by Andy Kubert. And the best thing is that WE know his past but Wolvie himself doesnt and probably never will as Rose's diary, which held all account of Wolvie's and her childhood, was burned.

JamesH - 2/16/2009, 11:20 AM
As for Liv as Sabertooth, I think he's got the maniacal, sadistic, loudmouth, cunning version down to perfection! Tyler Mane's version was huge and Feral but he never smiled, never talked and moved slower than Juggernaut.

Guess which one i prefer. Liv's gonna nail it.
