How long have you been waiting for Apocalypse to grace the silver screen with his presence? How long did you think you were willing to wait for it? Well now we got our wish, problem is will we get what we wish to see. Will he be done justice? In this article I thought we could all think of some ideas of what would make this EPIC character pleasing to us, and intriguing to a general audience.
The big thing that cannot change is his ideology, survival of the fittest. This works very well with the universe already set up. First Class touched on it, but with Apocalypse can fully explore it. The mutant debate that Magneto and Xavier always gets into means nothing to apocalypse. The weak should be destroyed and the strong should survive. Now what's great is that can include humankind as well. Not all mutants are powerful, and not every human is weak. Some could be portrayed as very resourceful and intelligent, like...Sinister. Who despite his appearance is actually human. This ideology is essential to the character, if nothing else done right with this character THIS HAS TO BE IT!!!!
In terms of powers this can be done in an interesting way. Whether he is coming from the future or not the script should throw a bit of The Twelve in the movie. Have Apocalypse have a few of his normal powers immortality and telepathy and technopathy and super strength. Then during the course of the movie have him steal powers from others mutants we know of. Kidnapping mutants like Mystique, Jean, Wolverine or Sabertooth. In essence using mutants to make himself more powerful.
Should he be from the future? This a bit of a tough one honestly. If he is it would make sense his ability to go back in time, that is if he isn't gonna use his mind. I think it would be cool though if Apocalypse were communicating with his servants through telepathy or by using someone else. But if he isn't from the future then we can see him more warrior like, before we see him almost cyborg like. If he was from the future maybe his plan could be to conquer earth before a certain event takes place. If he isn't then we could see exactly how he goes about taking over the world. However manipulating historical events in human history would be cool, but wouldn't we already see that in Days of Future Past. If you can't tell I'm kind of torn here.
The 4 Horsemen also essential, who could he use? I know we all would love to see Archangel, but this will more than likely take place in the 80's. So maybe they could use Wolverine or Gambit, I prefer Gambit honestly as a horseman of Apocalypse.
If there is one thing I wanna see Apocalypse do, besides being awesome(yeah lame I know) is go and tell the U.N. to hand the world over to him, or he'll do this horrific thing that would wipe out tons of people. I forget what exact comic he did that in, but it was awesome. Or have a line like in X men tas "I know more of this world than you can even dream. That is why I must destroy it." Something like that would blow my mind. Cause he's been around for 5000 years, so he'd know humanity well enough to say something like that.
