DARK PHOENIX Actor Evan Peters Reveals How Quicksilver Has Changed Since X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Fans have certainly been less than enthused for FOX's upcoming Dark Phoenix, and this was only exacerbated recently by a Reddit leak which revealed that the Simon Kinberg-directed film is seemingly on course to repeat past mistakes made by the franchise. Despite this, as with every X-Men film, there's sure to be some element that is a hit with audiences.

For many, those moments in the last two films came in the form of American Horror Story star Evan Peters' Quicksilver. The character first appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past and was both a standout in that movie  many fans' preferred version of the character over Avengers: Age of Ultron's Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Peters will again reprise the role in Dark Phoenix and has been speaking to ComicBook.com about how his character has changed since being introduced in the 2014 film.

"He's definitely a little older and more mature, a little more subdued, sort of trying to make a, not a name but trying to do right by the X-Men and be a good guy and use his powers for good, so I think he's on that path at the moment."

This acknowledgment is something that is sure to please many, as X-Men: Apocalypse was criticised for being loaded with references to events that occurred in X-Men: First Class and Days of Future Past, both of which took place decades before, while cast members like Peters, Lucas Till and Rose Byrne hadn't aged or changed at all.

Dark Phoenix is set a further 10 years after X-Men: Apocalypse, and could well suffer the same problem - but if the film can display that change in time through characterization that may go a long way to helping audiences suspend their disbelief.

What do you think? Are you happy to see Evans return as Quicksilver? Are you looking forward to Dark Phoenix? Leave your thoughts below.

@DirkLargepeck - Could not care less about any movie directed by that pedophile. But, this version of Quicksilver, though not canon, was pretty cool.

2 long time X-Men villains (Mystique & Quicksilver) are looking like some of the more prominent members of the actual X-Men team in this upcoming film. Kinda weird when you think about it.
