Charles Xavier: The young Oxford graduate, a powerful telepath who can read and control minds, had long wondered if there were others out there like him. When Charles finally meets some fellow mutants, he recruits them and harnesses their unique abilities to try and stop the greatest threat the world has ever known.

Magneto: As a young man, Lehnsherr discovered, under horrific circumstances, his power to control magnetism. Now, he is determined to exact revenge on the monstrous evil who 'created' him. Erik and Charles form a fast and fateful friendship, which is tested in a battle upon which rests the fate of mankind.

Mystique: A close friend to Charles Xavier, Raven is a metamorph or shape-shifter who can assume the form of any humanoid creature she chooses. The mutant teen works hard to lead a 'normal' life and hide her gifts, but the battle between Xavier's mutants and Shaw's forces leads her on a different path.

Beast: Hank is a brilliant scientist with only a few mutant features until a serum unexpectedly unlocks the superhuman Beast within.

Darwin: Through 'reactive evolution,' Darwin can adapt to any situation or environment. Plunged underwater, he grows gills; in the dead of night, he gains night vision.

Banshee: Banshee's unique sonic blasts carry him into flight. Like other young mutants, Banshee's powers reach their full potential only under Charles Xavier's patient tutelage, and in a battle that will have global consequences.

Azazel: A demonic figure, Azazel can teleport by opening a portal into another dimension. He is a key player in Sebastian Shaw's plans to make sure that mutants inherit the planet.

Riptide: Never far from the side of his leader, Sebastian Shaw, Riptide creates powerful whirlwinds that can demolish buildings and challenge even the most powerful mutants.

Havoc: Alex can emit concentric rings of super-heated energy waves, causing his targets to burst into flame. The handsome, athletic mutant has difficulty with his impressive powers, until Charles Xavier teaches him how to harness them.

Angel Salvadore: Angel, The beautiful ex-dancer possesses a stunning tattoo of insect-like wings, which become actual wings growing from her back, giving her the gift of flight. Her arsenal is a deadly acid, which she projectile vomits in combat.

The Man In Black: The Man in Black, as his mysterious moniker suggests, works for a covert government agency whose mission is to guard, and when appropriate, exploit our most explosive secrets. He enlists the assistance of mutants - and finds himself at the vortex of a battle that will determine the fate of humankind.

Moira MacTaggert: A female CIA agent in the 1960s - a time when female operatives were very few in number. After Moira becomes among the first humans to witness the powers of mutants, she tracks down Charles Xavier, who helps Moira convince her superiors of the existence of mutants and the notion of working with them for the greater good.

Sebastian Shaw: Shaw, a force of incalculable evil, was a Nazi collaborator whose early research forever altered the life of a young Erik Lensherr. Shaw can absorb energy and re-channel it, and he will stop at nothing to start a war to ensure that mutants inherit the earth.

Emma Frost: Emma, a platinum haired beauty and close ally of Sebastian Shaw, is a telepath who possess a diamond-like skin that is indestructible. Like Charles Xavier, she can project her thoughts and will into another's mind.

Okay, I was never the biggest X guy...I kind of thought the X books were overhyped at a time when Spidey and Cap and Punisher and GR and Batman were all producing better stories. I say that to ask forgiveness ahead of time for my ignorance....but...

Why the EFF is a movie titled "First Class" devoid of 80% of said first class????

Funny how everyone ragged on Fox for Singer and Vaughn bailing on X3 and now they're doing this and there's more hate for it.

I agree that it would be best to have the true First Class but nonetheless the plot appears interesting and the characters they are using seem to be done well.

I'm willing to bet that the end of the movie will be Xavier in a classroom with Jean, Scott, Hank, and despite continuity issues, Iceman and Angel. The movie will be everything leading up to The First Class....kind of like TDK was everything leading up to Bats "becoming" the Dark Knight.

Sorry but i agree abit with bryanferryfan, you dont judge a comic by its cover,so dont judge a comic book movie until you have seen it or until someone else has seen it and tells you its bad end of,whats saying thor and captain america is going to be any good, afterall 90% of the time, the only good bits in movies are in the trailers

With all that being said about "virgins" and "mamas chins" I think we all should just reserve judgment until the movie comes out, we just might be surprised. A lot can be fixed in editing.... Except maybe for Eric Bana's Hulk

You know, a lot of you guys are quite ignorant.

I know when they say "first class" you guys go straight to xaviers first class of mutants he taught. The producers and all definately didnt put this into mind when naming this move. Their "first class" means the first class of mutants to go public, or first generation. Too many of you guys are giving up way too soon.
I bet if they calle this "X-Men: First Generation" alot of you guys would stop [female dog]ing about the contents of the film and just friggin watch it.
Start being fans and support the cbms without jumping straight to the conclusion that it will suck. I bet alot of people were talking crap when heath was cast as joker in TDK, and look how that came out.
Stop being little whiney brats and watch the damn movie before judging it.

@bryanferryfan i'm going to see the movie and even if it sucks I'm happy to see xmen on the screen. You don't have to become insulting, some people live for that on here. you made you're point (and its a good one) be happy with that.

RhOki, as for my part in this fiasco, I didn't make any judgment about the quality of the movie. I was simply asking why, with the title First Class, it wouldn't focus on the actual first class. The movie is set in the 60s, features a young Xavier, the Hellfire Club, Sebastian Shaw. Come on, putting any spin on it being called "First Class/First Generation/First Menstrual Cycle" doesn't change that, for those of us who grew up reading books, the combination of Xavier's 'first class' with Hellfire, the 60s, etc...it's going to evoke some heavy Cyclops and Jean Grey stuff.

I'm not making any judgment about the ultimate quality of the film. I hope it's great, and I agree with everyone else, that this is an awesome time to be a fan of comic book characters. But just as the movies aren't automatically gonna suck, neither are they automatically gonna be Citizen Kane. It is incumbent upon the fans who care about these properties to do whatever small part they can to demand the people making the movies treat OUR characters and OUR stories with the respect they deserve.

Or something.
CrossOver
CrossOver - 3/22/2011, 9:41 PM
@Sentinal, i understand what you mean, the most part is just the naming of the movie that throws people in the direction of cyclops, jean grey, hairless beast and all.
Im just dont like how people trash the movie as a whole. If anything, they should do what youre doing, trash the name if anything. Just dont go off saying a movie will be bad off of one thing.
