Here is the official press release:

X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are to appear on a panel at the next MCM Expo London Comic Con, which takes place at ExCel London on 27-29 May, show organisers have announced.

A prequel to the popular superhero franchise from Marvel and Twentieth Century Fox, X-Men: First Class focuses on the relationship between Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and the origin of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Miller and Stentz also collaborated on the screenplay of another soon-to-be released comic book film, Thor, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, as well as sharing writing and production credits on hit sci-fi shows such as Fringe, Andromeda and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

"We’re delighted that Ashley and Zack will be part of our X-Men: First Class panel," said MCM Expo co-organiser Bryan Cooney. "As London’s Comic Con we play host to tens of thousands of comic book and film fans, so to have the writers of two of the biggest superhero movies of 2011 at the show is perfect."

"Only last week we announced much-anticipated action-adventure Green Lantern as the MCM Expo’s official title sponsor, and the addition of two such talented writers helps ensure that this May’s show will be one to remember."

Thor is set to be released on May 6, with X-Men: First Class following soon after on June 3!

How can one praise them for a movie no one has seen and rip them for a movie no one has seen?

Leee and Marvel72, how's the nerd rage support group going? Send Intruder an invite.

@ ryguy88

because they collabrated with other writers on the thor(which has a blinding script) & seem to have wrote x-men first class on their own.

its down to you if you want to except any old shit,me i would like them to be as faithful to the source material as possible.

if that makes me a "nerd",i would say fanboy but so be it.

@marvel72:

Really? Its REALLY, REALLY easy to praise someone for one thing, and rip them for something else, and rightfully so. I mean come on, just because someone does something GREAT once or something bad once, it doesn't mean that EVERYTHING they work on will be either good or bad. Common sense there...

green hornet is a bigger pile of shit than your taste in movies.

Marvel72:
I am not saying this to differ with you like these contrarian sophist douches. Live and let live, to each his own.. that's my thing.

So this is just FYI.

Generally speaking, almost all of the big name CBMs make truckloads of money even if they suck. It's sickening to think that a piece of shit like X3 made a ton of money but the fact is that it DID. Even the very bottom of the barrel.... The Elektras of the CBM world still do moderately well based on name recognition and the reputations of other films. Elektra tanked domestically but broke even worldwide. Fantastic Four, which was also pretty bad made around 150 million with a production cost of 100 million.

So as strange as this may seem, the rule of thumb is that you can expect a well known comic book based film property to perform at least moderately well no matter what the actual film is like.
X-Men's marketability as a brand will always ensure that no matter how horrendous film adaptations may be, it will still make $$. That's just the sad fact.

Intruder, what is wrong with you? You are the only guy on here that makes up complete bullshit about people and try and spread it around like a 10 year old. And bringing up things that happen in your personal life to try and boost your cred is pretty pointless as no one here actually knows or cares who you are (you do know that, right?) You are getting married soon? I hope Marvel72 knows what he/she is getting into because you take this message board shit too seriously.
CaptainAmerica
CaptainAmerica - 2/22/2011, 1:29 PM

Where are you getting the fuel for your arguments from? I'm not the one freaking on people and typing capital letter insults. I also am not the stooping so low as to tell people on the internet that I'm 6'2 and have a girlfriend (not to mention death threats (seriously?).) And I seriously do not care what your opinion of this movie will be. My only point is that you haven't seen it and therefor do not know if it is any good. You don't like that your favourite character isn't in it, fine, but you are the one crying all over this site (and maybe a little in a pillow too) because they aren't making the movie the way you want, not me. So don't act as though I'm the one (female dog)ing the place.
