Dammit. I hate being proved wrong, because that actually looks pretty good. :P I'm still far from convinced, and angry about the changes made to the source material, but feel a little better about it.

The trailer looks pretty sick in IMO! :) I'm really into the modern looks of the classic costumes and the time setting. This might turn out better than some of us had expected.

@LEEE777I'd rather have the X-Men stories from the comics directly transplanted to the films, but it's a little late for that....they already used the original five X-Men in the first 3 films. Using the same actors when they aren't old enough ...to have been active in the 1960's wouldn't have been plausible.

If the first three X-Men films were set in modern times, and the First Class film is set in the 1960's (both true) then you can't use the same characters because except for Wolverine and Beast, they wouldn't be old enough. Jean, Scott, Angel and Iceman, within the "X-Men Films" universe, have been established as being 18-28 in the early 2000s, therefore they can't be in X-Men: First Class.

Changing things around, and using characters from the comics as founding members instead of the original 5 isn't that crazy, and it's not a bad idea. It works.
All superhero movies don't stick 100% to the comics, every superhero movie made has changed something from the source.

Oh thank god...it looks so much better than I thought it would! I'm actually excited to see it now. What an awesome year for Super Heroes it's going to be! And it comes out on my birthday....awww...they're so nice to do that for me.

What happened to all the haters for this film? I'm quite stoked about it, and I plan to see all comic book-related films this summer. It'll be the summer for geeks and closet-geeks alike!

could it be? Did Fox just deliver?

Sure, it's not ripped from the source material, but is it good?

@ll3raider...great point bud. CBM's (whether good, bad, indifferent, Marvel, or DC) have picked up the comic book industry off its proverbial ass. This genre and all related products were all but dead until CBM's came to the rescue. Fans shouldn't whine or complain when things don't go 100% the way they would like. Instead...sit back and enjoy cause' we're in geek heaven which wil hopefully last a long time. So...like you...I'll keep supporting and seeing these movies as long as they keep making them.

PS: The trailer is promising.

wow mystique falls for a slowly mutating Hank McCoy turning into Beast (probably at the end of the movie ): )Who also seems to be preforming gymnastics for Kevin "Shaw" Bacon. Meanwhile the mageneto beats up the iron curtain when he and Charles aren't hanging out at the ol mutant rub and tug house....

After you get passed the cheezy "Before he was Magneto, he was Erik" stuff, it looks a little better than what I expected but still kinda on the, Eh, side. That glimpse of Beast looked terrible though. I like this period. I like the style and the way people dressed and the film seems to have accomplished the period look which has a vintage comic book feel. Not really juiced about it but I'll keep checkin in on it. I'll definitely rent it at the least.

It seems that Charles and Erik are already going to be rivals in this film which is way too soon if your trying to show the back story. We've seen them fight for entire trilogy. Show the friendship, and not that George Lucas Obi Wan and Anakin friendship where they talk about being friends on an elevator.

This might turn out to be a pretty good movie. It might turn to be the best X-Men movie to date. We'll see.

Goes to show people U can't judge a movie by a couple of on-line pictures X-men First Class looks wonderful in my view, many have been trashing X-men First Class & Green Lantern, U all must remember alot of stuff from both films are not completed so my advice is this: "If U r a true comic book fan U will not make trashy judgements until U go see the actual movie 4 urself & then make a an appropriate judgement" as for me all I have to say is this, This is a Good trailer & Marvel & DC Comics live long & strong!

@LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

You seriously can't believe, in your heart of hearts, this looks worse than Green Lantern.....

Regardless of how the movie turns out as a whole, this TRAILER utterly mops the floor with GL. IMHO, I think I actually like it more than what Ive seen of Cap. I feel like just because its Fox people are going to hate this movie. If the same exact movie was released from Marvel Studios everyone would be hunky-dory with it. You were scorned in the past, I get that. We all were. But seriously, how can any of you say that this looks bad(so far...)?

Again, once the movie comes out and we have time to digest the whole shebang, it might end up not so great. It might be fantastic. Who knows? But, as a trailer, it was pretty impressive.

although i wasn't much of a skeptic because of matthew vaughn's and a few actors' involvment...but WOW that trailer was amazing and yet it doesn't compare to thor or captain america its on the level with green lantern for sure...im hoping we ge a better GL trailer bc im having doubts about the movie

Well of course the beginning looks fan made, it includes clips from previous films. That is exactly what fan made trailers consist of, clips from previous films because they have no content from the film they are try to portray.
I thought the beginning was a nice touch for people who might not be completely familiar with the X-Men series, it gives them a chance to know this film is different from the others by giving obvious material to compare X-Men: First Class to.

@Lee, you gotta point there in terms of how this gonna stack up with the big 3 of this yr. Atleast the GL trailer caught my eye (kilowog and sinestro) but this just looks more of the same. :P
