Spell is a new horror movie from writer Kurt Wimmer (Total Recall) and director Mark Tonderai (Locke & Key). The cast includes Omari Hardwick (Power), Loretta Devine (Black-ish), and John Beasley (The Sum of All Fears), and arrives on Premium Video-On-Demand and Digital in time for Halloween on October 30th from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Last week, we sat down with Hardwick for a brief conversation over Zoom, and while talking about whether any specific movies or performances inspired his work in Spell, the actor mentioned that he's being lined up for what sounds like a major role in a Bourne-style project!
"There's a project presently, ironically, that I'm up for that has some smells of The Bourne Identity," Hardwick revealed. "I'm glad I watched The Bourne Identity so many times prior, and I'm about to have an expiration date on when I can watch it if I book that project. I can watch it know it's a possibility I end up doing that movie or story, but once I get it, I try to stay away because I don't want to be influenced by that which is the same or similar to what I'm now doing."
Hardwick's star is very much on the rise, and with Power at its end, he definitely seems to be making a long overdue impact as a leading man on the big screen. It remains to be seen what this movie ends up being, but it's not remotely difficult to imagine the actor kicking ass in his own action/spy franchise.
