The top website for news on this action ensemble series, the Expendables Premiere, have just reported that Mel Gibson will play the villain of Expendables 3. The news comes straight from Sylvester Stallone himself who just a few hours ago wrote the following on his twitter,

"Mad Max vs Barney Ross..."

nICE! Mad Riggs Wallace Max will be a great villain! Gibson is a great actor imo and Id love to see this! Also, isn't Van Damme returning? I hope so :)

Mel is a wacky guy & is a way better actor & director than Stallone or any of the others.
Only Bruce Willis is close to him in acting,hope Mel makes the 3rd one the best one.

Hell yeah! this is awesome. Sure these movies aren't cinematic masterpieces, but they are an 1 and a half of mindless action fun. I love it.

Now just get him to do Martin Riggs 1 more time and i will be truly ecstatic.

This is great news. Mel is an incredible actor & I hate how people forget that. I understand why people are mad at him but that doesn't change how great of an actor that he is.

I would love to see him be the director of Hawkman. I believe he could make a good one.

i wanna see RIGGS vs. McCLANE. I think both mel and brucey should do a Heat-type of deal, cuz i think, like pacino and de niro, or sly and arnie, those two are the screen titan match of each other.

so yeah..if in the 2nd one, we got sly vs. van damme, how about we see mad max battling die hard john.
