Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to watch this pulse-pounding new trailer for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (first shared on ActioNewz.com), a movie that looks set to rival last year's Top Gun: Maverick in terms of blockbuster filmmaking.

The action scenes teased in this sneak peek make for edge-of-your-seat viewing, and we can only imagine how good they'll look on the big screen. New and returning characters alike receive the spotlight, and it's clear now that this will be an adventure that pushes Ethan Hunt to his very limits.

How this sets the stage for Part Two, a movie many believe will bring the long-running franchise to an end, remains to be seen. We can't wait to find out, though!

In Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission...not even the lives of those he cares about most.

The movie stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt,Cary Elwes, Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney.

The seventh chapter in this iconic Mission franchise and the third directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is set to be released in theaters on July 12, 2023.

Paramount Pictures previously announced that Dead Reckoning Part Two arrives on June 28, 2024.

It’ll be tough for the villain to stand up to Lane, but overall this one is looking great!

I wonder if theyre gonna keep this going in a 007 sort of way? If so, who would be the next Ethan?

@BeNice123 - I doubt it. The thing about Bond is the character, the thing about MI is Tom Cruise

@BeNice123 - Wasn’t that why they introduced Jeremy Renner’s character in M:I-4? But then it did so well financially that they decided to continue the series with Tom Cruise. I thought I read something about that.

@HorseWengh - I think that was more of just people speculating that he was going to take over as opposed to actually being the case, like with Shia LaBeouf in Indy 4.

@BeNice123 - That was the rumor, because Reiner was really hot at the time and people thought Tom Cruise was old and coming back for a 4th film would be his swan song. I don't think it was ever super accurate though.

@BeNice123 - Originally they were considering Jeremy Renner which is why he was in Ghost Protocol. They didn't know if Tom Cruise was going to keep doing these movies so I understood.

I think this will be it, but as long as it makes money (which I'm most certain it will) they will probably end up rebooting it, or....at the end of the movie I can see them doing a fade-to-black and then fast forward several month or a year later and have a new crew of MI agents doing a similar mission to the first mission in the first Mission Impossible movie, and the man they are reporting to would who is off camera.....is revealed as Ethan Hunt.

He takes over the director role and is passing the torch to the new crew.

Interesting thoughts. If anything, i do enjoy all the MI’s. Hopefully whoever Tom passes the torch to is excellent.

@DannyDischarge -

I think that was the Bourne series. Renner got his spinoff but Matt decided to come back

This one will get my money.

I'm also waiting for a film nerd to time how much screen time Cruise has used up over his filmography just sprinting.

Rebecca Ferguson really is the reincarnation of Ingrid Bergman.

This had the bad fortune of dropping after I saw John Wick: Chapter 4 last night, so this looked rather tame when I watched it earlier, haha. I'll watch it later and it'll have the desired effect.

It’s funny. The adversaries in these movies are good but also in the grand scheme I have no idea what Hunt is ACTUALLY FIGHTING TO PREVENT. Yea it’s always some terrorist or dirty spy but they’re all relatively the same mostly. But like it’s almost never mattered? It’s really about Hunt’s SHEER WILL and inability to put his team’s lives over the mission. Every M:I is a MacGuffin Chase at the end of the day, they might as well be fighting over toys.
