Tom Cruise Blasts MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 Crew For Breaking COVID Protocols In London

In newly surfaced audio, Tom Cruise was captured blasting members of his Mission: Impossible 7 crew for breaking COVID protocols in London... and honestly, it sounds like he was absolutely in the right.

It's not easy being the biggest movie star in the world, and it looks like some of the pressure and frustration of this extremely trying year has finally caught up to Tom Cruise (Mission: ImpossibleTop Gun: Maverick), who earlier today was caught on audio tearing into a few of his Mission: Impossible 7 crew members after he caught them breaking COVID safety protocols during the London portion of the shoot.

The Sun released the expletive-filled recording earlier this afternoon, where Cruise is heard saying, "We want the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us! Because they believe in us and what we’re doing! I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs you motherf–kers."

Thanks to a gargantuan effort from the star/producer Cruise himself, Mission: Impossible 7 was among the first big-budget productions earlier this year to gain approval to resume filming after a lengthy pandemic-induced hiatus in the United Kingdom, slowly ushering in a restart in film productions across the globe. However, many films - including M:I7, which had cases surface during their Italy shoot in October and had to be shut down - have already experienced trouble keeping everyone safe as the pandemic rages on, and it sounds like Cruise doesn't want to take any more chances.

While his anger and frustration are on display, with him promising to fire the violators if they break protocols again, his passion for the future of the filmmaking industry is also clear as he reveals that he's been talking to multiple studios to help them get their biggest productions back on track, stressing how important keeping this production - as well as the entire film industry - going actually is as the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people across the globe depend on it.

Both the audio and transcript can be found below:

We want the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us! Because they believe in us and what we’re doing!

I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs you motherf–kers.

I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it you’re fired, if I see you do it again you’re f–king gone. And if anyone in this crew does it – that’s it, and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f–king do it again.

That’s it! No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their f-ing homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education.

That’s what I sleep with every night. The future of this f–king industry! So I’m sorry I am beyond your apologies. I have told you and now I want it and if you don’t do it you’re out. We are not shutting this f–king movie down! Is it understood?

If I see it again you’re f–king gone — and you are — so you’re going to cost him his job, if I see it on the set you’re gone and you’re gone.

That’s it. Am I clear?

Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason. And if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired. That’s it. That is it.

I trust you guys to be here. That’s it. That’s it guys. Have a little think about it. . .[inaudible].

That’s what I think of Universal and Paramount. Warner Brothers. Movies are going because of us. If we shut down it’s going to cost people f–king jobs, their home, their family. That’s what’s happening.

All the way down the line. And I care about you guys, but if you’re not going to help me you’re gone. OK? Do you see that stick? How many meters is that?

When people are standing around a f–king computer and hanging out around here, what are you doing? And if they don’t comply then send their names to Matt Spooner. That’s it.

In addition to Cruise, the highly anticipated Chris McQuarrie-directed blockbuster also stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Shea Whigham, Henry Czerny, Esai Morales, and Angela Bassett.

Mission: Impossible 7 lights the fuse in theaters on November 19, 2021; followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on November 4, 2022.

Good. The movie has already been shut down several times due to people’s negligence. If I were in his shoes, I’d be pissed too.

@santoanderson -
The UK Government just cut the quarantine time down from 14 days to 10 days, encouraging a ton of still infected individuals to wander around, and this nutter is on about distancing on set? They are going to blame the citizens the UK in another Lockdown in January, and all this crazed maniac cares about is the future of Hollywood?

Is his entire movie not going to have any actors within 2 meters of each other? It's insane not to expect people to socialize on set, especially when they are the film crew and likely require interacting with equipment. Even so, they share trailers together, eat together, they are therefore classed as a 'bubble' and do not need to follow said restrictions.

@Scarilian - Yes, but it only takes one idiot to not follow the rules goes on a binge at night and brings something that could spread. It's not about just making a movie but not losing people's jobs in the process.

Even if it sounds crazy as hell.

It sucks that other businesses need to close but the Government is allowed to work and collect a pay check; so it's the same for movie studios.

It does sound crazy because it is crazy.

I cannot imagine how everyone here will react when they realise it's going to be like this for 9 years, restrictions and lockdowns over and over. Let alone those individuals who think that the businesss closures are temporary and not permanent.

The true death toll of this pandemic will be measured in the mental health, poverty and suicide rates.

@Scarilian - Full global lockdown for a period of around 2-3 months is the only thing that will fully eradicate the disease.

That's not happening because the 1% would lose their foothold (stranglehold even) of power in the ensuing economic recovery of the world.

But we will eventually demand it and someone will bring it before the UN and we will do what we shoulda done back in March.

But I think it'll take the collective whole a few years before we're good and sick of this virus. It will outstay it's welcome.

We are all expecting things to clear up this year, because of the vaccine. CUT TO 2 years later we're still having lockdowns, rules, regulations and social distancing, we're gonna start to take action ourselves and ask our governments to actually do something drastic like a full lockdown to rid the world of this annoying bloody virus for good.

2024 this will happen. We should be Covid free by 2025.

@GwenLantern - there will never be a full lockdown. The world wouldn't work if every single person in thr world was home for 10 days. All kinds of basic services that we all depend on require minimum level of people. I'd say the most you can get is maybe two thirds of the population on lockdown

@Alphadog - Those caring for dead, dying and ill, those involved in food production and supply and those working in transport for the aforementioned workers.

There's no way it could ever be a FULL full lockdown. But if we kept testing all the above workers every day and they kept social distancing procedures (whenever possible) I think we could contain and control things enough to make sure we put the double-tap on the back of Covid's head.

@GwenLantern - Those are just some of the jobs we still millions of people with no jobs for example imagine all the people that were school bus drivers without the schools open even janitors don't have jobs.

Nor is the Government pushing out Stimmulus Checks to help the people since Trump gave one out months ago. If were not seeing a U.S depression we will next year if not a Global one.

"Full global lockdown for a period of around 2-3 months is the only thing that will fully eradicate the disease."

Frick right off with that. We have the vaccine, give it to people who want it who feel it is a danger. Everyone else can continue as normal and take responsibility for themselves. If the vaccine works it should protect people, if not its utterly useless.

"1% would lose their foothold"
That is utter nonsense. The 1% are orchestrating a top down method of control creating an increased wealth disparity by destroying small and medium class businesses. The only businesses that survive are those which they are invested in (masks, vaccines, tracking, e-vaccinations, etc...) or those which have a direct appeal to the future they want to create (Carbon Neutral, Eco friendly, Online)

@bobevanz -
9 years.

https://www.unenvironment.org/news-and-stories/press-release/cut-global-emissions-76-percent-every-year-next-decade-meet-15degc

I'm certain it is just a coincidence that the only method they can do to achieve a 7.6% drop each year would be to keep everyone locked up... /s

This is the reality, they are pleased with how much global emissions were dropped this year and want to replicate this year for the next 9 years.

@HeavyMetal4Life - The movie felt more preoccupied with explaining its premise, than it did developing its characters.

In Inception, Nolan told a very high concept story with complicated plot devices and mechanics… but it still had good characters. Characters with backstories, motives, strengths, weaknesses, etc. So if you went into Inception, and your brain couldn’t keep up with whose dream they were in, what level they were at, etc, you could still identify with Cobb trying to get back to his kids.

Tenet had none of that. Hell, the main character didn’t even have a name. John David Washington plays “The Protagonist”, and character-wise he’s a totally blank slate.
