Tom Cruise & Chris McQuarrie Light The Fuse As MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6 Kicks Off Production

Light the fuse and cue the music because Mission: Impossible 6 has officially entered principal photography! Director Chris McQuarrie made the announcement earlier today with a sweet new photo!

"Hunt is uniquely trained and highly motivated - a specialist without equal - immune to any countermeasures. There is no secret he cannot extract, no security he cannot breach, no person he cannot become. He has most likely anticipated this very conversation and is waiting to strike in whatever direction we move. Sir, Hunt is the living manifestation of destiny - and he has made you his mission."

The IMF is back in business!

Director Chris McQuarrie took to Twitter earlier today to officially announce that production on his highly anticipated sixth installment in Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible franchise has officially kicked off production in Paris, France.

Both Cruise and McQuarrie were spotted arriving on set, via helicopter, this morning to get shooting underway, which based on the first batch of photos might involve an intense police chase. The photos are copyrighted, so you'll have to head over to the Daily Mail to check them out, but they feature what appears to be a prisoner transfer as a number of actors were spotted in full tactical gear escorting someone that looks a lot like a bearded Sean Harris from the helicopter down into an armored police vehicle. The context of the scene is uncertain at this point, but Ethan Hunt may have a prison break on his hands.

Additionally, Henry Cavill (Justice League) is expected to be on set relatively soon, so he may have a part to play in this sequence. Also, in his tweet,
McQuarrie revealed that Ex Machina cinematographer Rob Hardy will be handling camera duties for M:I6, which is certainly exciting news.

Check out the announcement below:

On a side note.....I never knew they shot a pilot for Power Pack back in 1984!

When I was 8 or 9 I used to read Power Pack all the time.

Cruise is actually PLAYING the DOG? "no person he cannot become." He's been training ALL year for this!
