THE SIMPSONS Animated Short "Playdate With Destiny" Arrives TOMORROW On Disney+

TV shows like The Mandalorian and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier may have been put on hold due to COVID-19, but Disney is still finding ways to bring new content to Disney+!

It's been confirmed today that the animated short film "Maggie Simpson in 'Playdate with Destiny'" will stream globally on the service beginning tomorrow, Friday, April 10th. The Simpsons creator Matt Groening shared a special handwritten note on social media confirming the news.

The film begins on a day that seemed like just another day at the park for Maggie Simpson. But when Maggie faces playground peril, a heroic young baby whisks her from danger — and steals her heart. After a blissful first playdate, Maggie can’t wait to see her new baby beau again the following day, but things don’t go exactly as planned.  Will fate (or Homer) get in her way?

Originally released in theatres before Pixar’s Onward, "Maggie Simpson in 'Playdate with Destiny'" builds on the success of the franchise's 2012 Academy Award-nominated film, "Maggie Simpson in 'The Longest Daycare,'" which will also begin streaming on Disney+ later this month.

Both films join the streaming service’s impressive The Simpsons collection including The Simpsons Movie and 30 seasons of the Emmy Award-winning television series.

@MyCoolYoung

They were smart to have an annual subscription option...they got me locked down for the year.

I don’t think I’ll be a subscriber once that year is up in November or December.

I thought X-Men TAS would hold me over but honestly I’ve watched most of Season 1 and that’s about all I need.

@regularmovieguy - I keep paying the subscription thinking I'm going to miss something but it's obvious I'm not.

I'm just waiting on the marvel shows and with this pandemic no one knows when we'll get those.

I watched the x-men animated series and didn't like it as much as I did as a kid. Someone told me to watch the other one so maybe I'll give that a look

@MyCoolYoung - I go 1 by 1 with the services. I'll do one movie from Netflix, then next Amazon, then Disney+. And then repeat.

@MrCamw1 - have you found anything worth watching? I've been finding some movies I've seen before but ones I like on Starz

@MyCoolYoung - mostly all the Disney channel originals from the 90s and 2000s. If you arent a fan of those you can take or leave the service. Do find some gems for. Time to time like Blank Check (not a good movie by any means but it's a fun watch). The sister Act movies, which I do t k ow why are there. Obviously the Marvel movies and scenes from Revenge of the Sith.

Keep in kind I'm easily entertained regardless who the intended audience is so it may not work for ya like it does me. Obviously theres tons there on D+ but I still a bit when deciding on something I havent seen before.

@MrCamw1 - I do love the even Stevens, Lizzie, etc I’m just so scared to watch them because I don’t want it to be nostalgia I’m holding on to if that makes sense.

I did watch smart guy and that show holds up big time. Blank check is my movie man. Loved it as a kid. Watched sister act earlier this year. Loved 2 But 1 was kinda boring

@MyCoolYoung - I'm cool with Sister Act 1 more so than 2 but that's cool. If you got an hour 30 relive that nostalgia with Blank Check man. It's still fun today though you really think about the kid adult chick romance lol. Also the VR trap sequence towards the end is hysterical. I have yet to rewatch shows cause itll take more of my time....but to be fair weve all got some free time now.

Find a list of 'best Simpsons episodes" and just go through those. I had forgotten how good it could be.

Seasons 1-6 are so prime! Haven't really watched a lot after that though. Crazy to think that the sixth season aired in 1994-95 and the show is still going on, that's nuts LOL
