Christopher Nolan Said To Be Involved With AKIRA Trilogy At WB - His 2017 Movie Perhaps?

Literally all we know about Christopher Nolan's mystery movie with Warner Bros. is that it's set for a 21st of July, 2017 release - but a new rumor from Den Of Geek is sure to fuel speculation that it might just be the first installment of a trilogy based on iconic manga series, Akira.
The site has heard that WB is now planing a trilogy of Akira movies, and that Christopher Nolan has met with a previously attached filmmaker (who they say they can't name) "within the past three months to talk about the project." Nolan has written/co-written every movie he's directed bar 2002's Insomnia, so it would definitely be unusual for him to work from someone's else's script (in this case Marco J. Ramirez), but there's always the possibility he's giving said script the once-over too, of course. Or, he may just be on board as producer, or... he's not involved in any capacity at all!
So do take all of this with that every ready grain of salt, but keep in mind that whatever this mystery movie is it's going to be a BIG Summer release for Nolan and WB, and Akira would definitive fit that bill. What do you guys think? Anything to this?
