Dragon Ball Z Live Action Film in the Works

A small company known as K&K productions are currently hard at work on a live action Dragon Ball Z project. Check out the trailer here!

They will be producing a short film in trailer form that is based off of the Saiyan saga from Dragon Ball Z. They have already given roles to Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Nappa and the rest of the DBZ crew from this era. As of now, they are only going to finish a trailer, such work has been done to previous series such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. It is possible they will make a full blown live action movie or even a web series, but it matters if this project becomes a success. Check out some of the trailers and behind the scenes footage below!




If it does become a success, would you like to see them work with 20th Century Fox (who still have the license to produce more Dragon Ball films if they please)? Or maybe just keep it as an Indie film?

I'd definitely watch this. Definitely has a lot of potential. They seem really enthusiastic about it and the casting seems pretty good. And they actually have muscles unlike the Hollywood version.

I've been a fan of DBZ since my childhood, and its something that has been special to me for years. If it wasn't for this show I would have never became the die hard anime fan that I am today. But I would love nothing more than see a new live action version of the series, that would get that awful taste of Dragonball Evolution out of my mouth. But I really like how these guys are real devoted fans and seem to respect the source material, so if someone could bring this to a rebooted film with the right budget and vision, then count me in.

mehhh... i'd see it. looks better than the crap version they did in theaters. at least these guys want to give the fans what they want, and not some version of "well it has characters in it from DBZ, but we changed the story". good luck with it, and maybe it will turn into a Mortal Kombat Legacy type deal.

@Bandrews1: Nice, man; the same goes for me. DBZ is the best anime that ever existed. I feel this is a cool project, but the only thing I don't understand is why are they making a trailer instead of just beginning to make the project into a film?

@Rockstar96 probably only have enough money to do the 5 minute video. If it gets popular, it might take them somewhere and they can make a longer movie.

I'm sorry but I hope this fails.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard fan of the mangas and anime but the whole idea is WHACK!
I hoped beyond hope that Evolution would be OKAY but never expected it to be any better.
It was neither and it just proved my point.

A Dragon Ball Z movie that did justice to manga or anime is just downright impossible at this point.
Perhaps an animated version but live action is just rediculous. I'm sorry.

Once again, not trying to hate, I LOVE DRAGON BALL (I have the four star dragon ball tattoed by my heart and DBZ tattoed on the back of my shoulder) but I'm telling you right now.

its not that hard to be better then that ape shit they made in theaters ..one of the worst adaptations iv ever seen


aslong as they stay true to fans while updating it it should do fine

This is gonna be beast. This is what Dragonball: Evolution needed....actual fans of the show on the production team.

If the producers would've let Stephen Chow have more creative control, it'd would've been so much better.

I took each season of the Dragonball Z anime and edited it down into feature length films, showing it's very possible to be adapted for live action.
