First Look At Goku From DRAGON BALL SUPER

The first Dragon Ball Z anime in nearly 20 years is on the way and today, we get our first look at the legendary Super-Saiyan, Goku. He looks as familliar as ever but with some slight tweaks following the events of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

First Look at Goku in Dragon Ball Super


The manga for Dragon Ball Super will begin on June 20th and today, we have our first look at our main protagonist, Goku. Drawn by manga artist Toyotarō, Goku is still rocking his familiar orange gi, with some slight changes. He's swapped Master Roshi's Turtle School emblem for the emblem of Whis/Birus, who are training Goku following the events of Battle of Gods. He' also rocking some very Future-Trunks-esque boots, so perhaps these are made by Capsule Corps. The anime will premiere a month later, in July. Original Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama is credited with creating the story for Dragon Ball Super. Not a lot is now about the new story, other than the fact that it is set a few years after the defeat of Maijin Buu, during a time when the earth is at peace. This new story effectively wipes Dragon Ball GT from continuity.

I think someone on Reddit confirmed that this artwork was the same used for the manga adaptation for the new movie. For some reason they're saying this is artwork from Dragon Ball Suoer when we really haven't see anything yet

Not feeling good about this one... anyhow the first anime wasn't anything of the other world (maybe on that time it was), poor characterization, One Piece got the perfect balance of action, character and story arc. Just hoping this doesn't suck like the last 2 DB movies... they're both terrible.

DBZ was the leading show for anime at the height of the medium.

Unfortunately, this picture in NOT concept art for Dragon Ball Super. A quick Google Image Search confirms that this photo, along with the one of Goku, Vegeta and Frieza that @CaptainAmerica posted in the comments, have been floating around since December of 2014, on sites like Dragon Blog Z.

It's wicked art, but it's not from DBS.

used to now this asian chick who had short spiky hair. She would dye er hair blonde. I would calll her Gohan everytime. When she got pissed it was like her hair would light up. It was hilarious.
