The Adam Wingard-directed Death Note film didn't blow fans or critics away, but it seems the live-action adaptation of the popular anime and manga series pulled in enough viewers to warrant a sequel.
As part of a larger article discussing Netflix's movie division, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the streaming giant described the 2017 feature as "a 'sizable' success" and is currently developing a follow-up film.
While no director has signed on to the project, writer Greg Russo, who is currenty working on the forthcoming Mortal Kombat film, will reportedly pen the script for the sequel.
