AQUAMAN & THE LOST KINGDOM Star Amber Heard Drops Major SPOILERS For The Sequel During Trial

Amber Heard recently confirmed that Warner Bros. didn't want her to reprise the role of Mera for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and that she will have a significantly reduced part in the movie. Now, the actress has dropped some pretty major spoilers for James Wan's sequel during the ongoing defamation trial involving ex-husband Johnny Depp.

There are several reports doing the rounds, but based on what we can gather from the testimonies of Heard and expect witness, entertainment industry consultant Catherine Arnold, the movie begins with Mera being rushed to hospital so she can give birth (yes, it seems the rumor that Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry and Mera will have a son was accurate). From there, it sounds like Heard's character is going to disappear from the story for a significant amount of time before returning for a major action sequence involving another character who was not named.

Mera was originally going to have a much bigger role, however, as Arnold confirms. "Ms. Heard told me that she ends up in the hospital in this new Aquaman 2 movie and doesn't really come out until the end to kind of wrap things up, but all of the interactions with Momoa's character and certainly the action scenes were taken out."

Heard already revealed that most of her action scenes were removed, and a recent report indicated that Mera may only have about 10 minutes of screen time in total. There are rumors thar Warner Bros. plans to replace her in the role moving forward, and after everything that's come to light during this trial, we wouldn't be surprised.

Whatever happens, it's probably safe to assume that Heard won't be back as Mera for a third Aquaman movie or any other DC Comics-based project.

After a delay pushed the film out of its original December 2022 release window, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2023.
