AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - How The Vision/J.A.R.V.I.S. Will Factor In.

This is where I theorize how The Vision and J.A.R.V.I.S. will be used in the film, and how JARVIS and Ultron connect.

It's no secret now that Paul Bettany will portray The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But, how exactly will it be done?

Here is where I speculate...

In the comics, particularly the first issue that was released that featured Ultron caught my attention and which could, and most likely will lead into the events that play out over the course of Avengers: Age of Ultron in a sense. In the comic, Edwin Jarvis (the human version of JARVIS) was mind controlled by Ultron. Under the gust of "The Crimson Cowl", Edwin Jarvis sought to destroy The Avengers. A Mind-controlled Edwin Jarvis you say? Yes.

J.A.R.V.I.S. - The first Artificial Intelligence

Just a Rather Very Intelligent System

In the first Iron Man film it is established that JARVIS is Tony Starks right-hand man, his confidant, his best friend, in a sense. One scene in particular from that film catches my attention. It's this specific scene that makes me wonder about JARVIS...

Throughout the film series, JARVIS has been a guiding light to Tony Stark.

In The Avengers New York battle, JARVIS was Iron Man's right hand man, on top of everything, Tony and JARVIS were one, playing in tandem with one another, JARVIS knowing what Tony needed the second he asked.

(one scene I forgot to mention is JARVIS "hacking" into SHIELD to view all their secure files)

Tony: "Put everything we've got into the thrusters"
JARVIS: "I just did"

JARVIS: "Shall I try Miss Potts?"
Tony: "Might as well"

One scene that made some things click for me was when Tony told JARVIS to "grow a spine". That's neither here nor there, lol. Just some observation.

In the third Iron Man film, JARVIS simultaneously controlled 40 suits at once in the cinematic battle between the Extremis soldiers. JARVIS being able to control multiple Iron Man suits at once is nothing to bat an eyelash at as it leads into something much, much bigger.

One scene in particular that caught my attention is when Tony is trying to tell JARVIS that Pepper is not a threat, of course, with Tony's earpiece not being in his ear, JARVIS had no idea and proceeded to attack her anyway because of the heat signature she was emitting.

The Vision - How he will factor into the film.

There could be two, or three ways that The Vision could be created in the film.

1. Ultron creates the Vision
In the comics, Ultron creates the vision to take down the Avengers, in the comics, the vision himself has many many different abilities including being able to walk through objects (walls, floors, people) Lazers coming out of his eyes, the "gem" on his forehead emitted a beam, and his body itself was near indestructible. In the film, I believe that Ultron will corrupt JARVIS, as JARVIS is the only known A.I. system besides Ultron. It's makes complete sense that Ultron would change JARVIS' programming completely. Ultron updates JARVIS to "The Vision" and gives him a body.

2. Tony Stark creates the Vision (and Ultron)
After the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, some cataclysmic event forces Tony and "the Korean doctor" to create some sort of entity to stop upcoming threats on humanity.. Wither they be based on Earth, or come from the 9 Realms, or another planet entirely. Once Ultron's programming goes haywire, and he's let loose on the world Tony must combat it with his own intelligence and create The Vision.

If you haven't or weren't able to see the early animatics for The Avengers, Joss Whedon actually had the intent of having Loki corrupt Jarvis, and whisper sweet sweet beautiful hatred into Tony's ear.

This is where it gets very interesting..

Early rendering of the "real" JARVIS

One more thing before I go..

Some speculation was made, but it's the most obvious POI. If anyone has any other theories I'd be glad to hear them. I wanted to back track on this editorial as well so we get a sense of who Jarvis was/is from the other MCU films. I hope this perks your interest and I hope it leads to you making your own speculations.

Actually,I don't think Whedon intended for that to actually be Jarvis talking in that animatronic scene. I think it was supposed to be Loki pretending to be Jarvis to corrupt Tony. Afterall, Loki has demonstrated the ability to perform illusions, so making Tony think he is hearing Jarvis would not be hard.
