AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Set To Open Early In India

In addition to revealing that Marvel Studios will be opening Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron a week earlier in India, Disney has also announced that the film will be Hollywood's widest release ever in the Indian subcontinent. Come check it out!

Marvel Studios' biggest film to date, Avengers: Age of Ultron, is all set to arrive in India on April 24th, which is the same day as its European release, but a full week before its highly anticipated release in the United States. Disney India has also announced that Joss Whedon's magnum opus will be given the widest release ever for a Hollywood film on Indian screens and will be released in four languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu, which is the norm for most major Hollywood releases in India.

As Hollywood's stake in the Indian box office gets more and more lucrative, expect to see more tentpoles making similar moves in the future.
This move is not necessarily unprecedented territory for Marvel Studios as they've done something similar in the past when they released an alternate version of Iron Man 3 early in China. The alternate version was specially tailored for the Chinese audience with extra scenes not used in the American version. While, that won't be the case with Age of Ultron, could we see them doing something similar for Indian audiences in the future?

It certainly can't be ruled out, especially with India being the world's largest box office market in terms of ticket sales (more than twice the U.S. number), the 2nd largest in terms of screen count, and the 5th largest in terms of box-office revenue. However, they only rank fifth due to their average ticket prices being amongst the lowest in the world. The remarkable thing about all of this is that they've achieved their success by having the highest percentage of admissions for domestic films, but the lowest percentage of admissions for U.S. films. It's self-sustaining, extremely dominant box office, a rapidly growing market that Hollywood would certainly love to tap, preferably sooner than later.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Avengers: Age of Ultron features:
Director: Joss Whedon
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow

Thank goodness it's out here in Germany on April 23rd! I really don't know what went wrong with Guardians, which opened roughly a month later than in the US.

Does Marvel Studios hate America or something? Like why do other countries get films before America? Hell why does Captain America films get released in other countries before America? He's Captain America. That's an insult to America Marvel.

Guys take it easy, you don't have to fight about which country has a bigger dick. Come on, grow up and be proud of the place where you were conceived, two of the strongest countries in the whole continent...

This makes sense. They'll probably outsource the entire sequel to India. So keep those guys happy! Re-cut the print. Add a few dance numbers into the action sequences. Neat!

That means from April 24th til May 2nd(Most movies, I always see the day after it comes out) I have to stay off this site or at the very least-stay the hell out of the comments section. Something tells me there will be a lot of surprises in this movie.
