AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON: Spoilers On 'Black Panther', Deaths, 'Spider-Man', And More

With Avengers: Age of Ultron now being screened for critics, spoilers are beginning to surface, and Entertainment Weekly has put together an article confirming and debunking a number of previous reports while also revealing new details about the sequel. Are we getting a Spider-Man reference?

Cameos

The site reveals that Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange are nowhere to be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and while there is what they call a Black Panther "tease", he too is absent. Oh, and don't go in expecting a Spider-Man reference as there's no sign of him either. The Winter Soldier also doesn't appear, but is mentioned. Heimdall meanwhile is a "vision", so him and Loki probably only appear as part of whatever Thor sees when the Scarlet Witch plays with his mind. The Falcon, Peggy Carter, and War Machine are all set to show up as well. Could Spidey appear in the mid-credits?

Linda Cardellini And Julie Delpy

Who is this actress playing? Well, according to the site, "Whedon and Feige want to keep her a surprise, and they’re absolutely right. The emotional payoff that comes from her reveal is worth the wait. I will say this: she’s no one you’ve ever heard of, not a superhero, not a villain. She’s a person. An important one. And the fact that you don’t know her is part of the reason why." So, no one from the comic books, but an extremely important character? Interesting. Julie Delpy meanwhile is playing Black Widow's instructor in a flashback to her time as a youngster in Russia.

A Character Death

Someone "important" does die in the sequel, and their passing is neither misdirection or set up for them to be resurrected. Were the rumours about Quicksilver true then? It seems that way...

That Mysterious Woman From The Trailer

Remember the woman we were all speculating about? Some thought she might be Shuri, others said Jocasta or a member of the Dora Milaje. The answer...isn't revealed in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She's been cut from the movie, and the site adds that "Thor’s whole journey to this cave is a bit of a headscratcher, which suggests a subplot that was seriously truncated." Bring on the Blu-ray!

Ulysses Klaue

Wakanda is referenced in the movie and Ultron is indeed after Vibranium. That leads him into contact with Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), and arms dealer who has access to at least some of the indestructible substance. He ends up losing a hand here, setting the stage for a big return in Black Panther as the version of the character we all know from the comic books perhaps. Thoughts?

Well, first avengers movie had thor not being able to pick up the hammer one second, then able to fight with it again in the final battle, with that never being addressed. So I guess that Thor and the bath thing will be another "mystery"

Interesting read, I'm glad they are saving some of the bigger characters (Captain Marvel, Spider-Man) for later reveals, the film can stand on it's own without that shoe horning. A character death? Quicksilver seems likely given the X-men situation which could become more confusing for the GA if two versions continue to reappear in multiple films.

Cardelini might be playing Hawkeye's wife as previously reported. Kinda a bummer to find out that Klaw ends up losing his hand in the film, would have made for a nice surprise while watching it.

@dannramm113 Pretty sure that Thor just didnt feel worthy during that moment so he hesitated.

Glad this wasn't too spoiler-y. People just can't help themselves nowadays.

dannramm113- to me it seemed thor was doubting his worthiness which is why he didnt just call it straight to him.

@AlexanderLykins

Well (and I'm not trolling, this actually bothered me) in the first Avengers movie, Thor couldn't pick up his Hammer in the field after his fight with the Hulk, really emotional shit. Then, he just appeared in the final fight, with the Hammer in his hands. Never addressed again. The thor bath scene seemed really good in the A2 trailer, now with it being said they abandoned that plot line, it disappoints me.

If Quicksilver dies i don't wanna see this movie - never!
Thank you, Joss Whedon! You're a really piece of shit!

I'm sad. This time, I tore my ticket. No turning back.

I wonder what the mid-credits scene is. I always that having T'Challa not in costume looking over the destruction in Wakanda would be the best way to go about it. But we'll see.

War Machine is gonna die.

Quite me on this. Ultron wants to hurt Tony and make him suffer. What better way then killing his best friend?

you guys as well, maybe you're right, but still, its left in the heads of the viewers to decide instead of explained upon further.

And Quicksilver being the one dying isn't that surprising. He's never been as popular as his sister.

Why the flark would you make this? Why?
Can't we find out what happens in a film when we go to see it anymore?

People on twitter say me that Quicksilver lives, and another great and big character dies, but i don't know in who trust ...
I'm confused ...
I wanna delete this movie from my life!

@LEVITIKUZ Cheadle mentioned recently on Letterman that he schedules his roles around Marvel movies. I think that implies he's in it for the long run.

Maybe its because he doesn't have tits that he isn't as popular

Chcl- calm down dude you jump the gun every time his potential death is mentioned we dont know anything for certain yet so dont worry. i think the death in the article refers to JARVIS who is said to be killed by ultron but later his leftovers is used by ultron to create vision.

Jarvis is a important character?
Seriously, I want Whedon is shot on twitter if he actually did it [with pietro]!
a pity he did not come out before killing one of the best characters for Marvel universe established in the movies.

Let's stop the speculation about Quicksilver dying and start the speculation about which movie Scarlet Witch will appear in next. My hopes are on Dr. Strange. It would be cool to see the Avengers send Wanda to check out Strange and have a battle between the two early on in the films.
kinghulk
kinghulk - 4/10/2015, 2:50 PM
Chcl- at the start of the film he has more importance to the audience that quicksilver who will appear for the first time (although im sure everyone will care more about him by the end). JARVIS has been in 4 films with OAU being his 5th appearance.
HAILHYDRA
HAILHYDRA - 4/10/2015, 2:52 PM
I'm honestly not surprised about not referencing characters that don't appear in the movie. With everything going on, it would've been way too much, to drop even one-liners about Strange, Black Panther, Spider-Man and especially Captain Marvel - a character that is going to need a proper origin before the general audience understands.
