Though the Avengers: Age Of Ultron DVD release is still over a month away, a few of the special features have begun to pop-up online. Following on the gag reel's debut last week, a new deleted/extended scene has now surfaced on Tumblr. The clip is just over a minute long, and features an prolonged conversation between Steve Rogers and Maria Hill, following on from the Avengers' return from Sokovia at the beginning of the movie.

While it doesn't offer any particularly shocking new footage, the scene does give a little more focus to Cobie Smulders' Hill, and how her views on attaining peace contrast with Captain America's. Fans of the Civil War comic will be aware that Maria Hill plays a vital role in that story, heading up the Superhero Registration Act alongside Iron Man - and against Cap. 


So far, the Maria Hill we've seen in the MCU hasn't been nearly as headstrong or forthright as her comic book counterpart (although she does have a far more likeable personality). It seems director Joss Whedon was teasing a more antagonistic Hill here, ahead of her role in Captain America: Civil War next year. What do you think? Little nuances like that in this scene really flesh out the characters. An extended cut would've been great. Loved the movie regardless though.

In the firsavenegers movie a lot of footage was cut of her, debriefing with world security council as if she's narrating the story. She was a stone cold bitch then and I don't know why whedon cut it out, no ones meant to like maria hill

@dantheman432 I also think that we need extended cut.I felt from watching movie that a lot of things they cut,with Ultron,with Vision etc.

Maria Hill in Avengers 1 was Colbie Smulders trying not to smile. Maria Hill in Winter Soldier was Colbie Smulders showing up. Maria Hill in Age of Ultron was Colbie Smulders...no longer trying to be anything but Colbie Smulders..."where are the ladies?"

I don't know why they didn't make the cut 2 and a half hours. There was no need to cut all the stuff they did.

Most of who I've talked to about the film thinks that it would have been great if it was longer too.

IDK why Marvel didn't just let Joss do his thing on this one.

The only thing they should have prevented is the whole Black Widow/Hulk thing.

That was just bad writing. Like bad fan fiction. It stooped to almost twilight level in those scenes.

Yeah, it was that bad.

The rest of the movie was so great though it really makes up for that subplot.

It's just sad that we got that subplot because it makes the rest of the movie not the perfect thing it could have been.

The film is so compacted and spontaneous and sets up so much for phase 3 it's unbelievable. I think the only problem is, in comparison to the first is how sloppy it tends to be as the first had NO wasted moments. Still, Whedon nailed the development, dynamic, action beats and character moments. The ambition is admirable, though some can argue they tried to go too big. I'd disagree. Can't wait to get this on Blu-Ray

What's wrong with that? I prefer the fights between more grounded heroes with no powers. Makes the universe seem so bigger that you have gods fighting while normal people fight as well.

Still no word on Harley's different costumes in the movie. I'd love to see the classic jester or Arkham City outfit. We've seen alternate outfits for Deadshot in set pics, I would assume that her alternate outfits would at least have been leaked

Seriously, if the different costumes was just a lie to calm down fans that weren't a big fan of the outfit we see her wearing, then I'll be pissed.

The more Hill, the better!!! She should be a more interesting character, but they keep cutting her scenes.

Anyhow, I really hope she at least has a minor role in Civil War (I wish she has a huge one, but she hasn't even been confirmed yet).
