Jeremy Renner recently appeared in an episode of Larry King Now, and the follwing clip has been released of him discussing his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It kicks off with some talk about how he landed the part, as well as what's in store for Clint Barton after Avengers: Age of Ultron ("No man, I don’t die. They are going to keep me around for a while."). Of course, thanks to the recent reveal that he may be turning up in Captain America 3, that's no great surprise! Oh, and before you go getting too hysterical about that "We're not doing Shakespeare" comment, pay close attention to what Renner then says about how a movie like The Avengers differs to more serious projects and why the role of Hawkeye still involves giving it his 100%. Good. Hawkeye was the least interesting Avenger so far, and that's why I wanna see more of him. He has potential to shine, they just didn't tap into that potential yet.

Hawkeye: a mindless zombie for most of his first major MCU appearance, killed off in his very next major MCU appearance.

All jokes aside, its great that they don't kill him off, we could use some more hawkeye. He was only in two films so far (and he was barely visible in Thor).

Yeah, and these are the same people who obviously slept during the movie parts where Hawkeye helped save the world. And the same people who at the same time claim to be suuuuch big comic fans. Like of the comics where the non-superpowered Avengers are just as important as the rest.
