More Unrevealed Details From The AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON SDCC 2014 Footage And More

A few missing details from all these footage descriptions around here... And what Marvel just doesn't seem to understand.

Just one of the pictures I took from 3rd row...

San Diego Comic-Con 2014 is over and I've read many descriptions of the footage shown to us 6.500 cheering Marvel fans in Hall H on Saturday, but there's always a few details missing. Here's a few tidbits I remember from the material that I couldn't find in any report here so far:

- In the Hammer lifting scene that was shown first, all the male Avengers seemed pretty drunk while Black Widow, made up in a cocktail dress and strong make-up, is the only one seemingly sober.
- One of the first sentences of this scene was Hawkeye talking about his circus past (claiming that only Thor being able to lift Mjoelnir is just a circus trick), leading to the hopeful conclusion we'll get a much more comic-like Clint Barton this time.
- Thor looks legitimately shocked when Steve almost lifts the hammer. Probably already thinking about how to introduce the new leader of Asgard to Odin (Tony asked if he could lead Asgard if he could lift Mjoelnir and Thor said yes).
- In a scene in the woods, Black Widow and the Hulk are near to touching hands, the way Betty and the Hulk did in The Incredible Hulk.
- A lot more Hawkeye presence in the footage than we're used to it after The Avengers. When Ultron enters the party scene, we see Hawkeye getting sober and alert and next to Tony at once. Also included: tidbits of his sequence with the twins from the Italy shoot, where he leads a bunch of civilians in a quinjet, some arrow shooting and the running scene from the explosion from the promotional pictures.
- Black Widow jumping out of the quinjet with her bike
- Not only Maria Hill chilled with the Avengers at the party scene, Claudia Kim's character was also there, indicating a quite interesting possible closeness to Tony.
- Unlike most descriptions say, in the famous depressing apocalyptic shot in the end of the footage, not all the Avengers are lying dead on the floor. We see at least Hawkeye kneeling very awake next to Iron Man.

Oh yeah, just another picture taken that evening.

All in all, Marvel did a solid presentation that evening, very satisfying on the Avengers: Age Of Ultron front but - considering the female majority of the audience, probably wisely - holding back any Phase 3-revelations which did leave a little of a stale taste. Here's hoping the next months will be filled with more awesomeness, especially on the female lead front. When you have mainly woman camping for the best seats since Friday morning for the panel Saturday night, one should think, that gets Feige & Co thinking.

"Guys Hawkeye wont die"

Why not? If they're going to kill a main character, it might as well be one that can't hold their own franchise.

@richardboldly

why? because I wondered why the article author said that marvel was smart in not revealing phase 3 plans because the audience was mostly female?

or because I just made you face the fact that hawkeye is garbage?

lol as much as I'd like to be rid of that dumb bitch/poor excuse for a super spy, there is too much clamour for a female-led hero movie, and they might hang on to her, just in case.

@Nibs Hawkeye is a badass he just need time to shine. Only character that will die is Thor. Only because it happened in the comics and the GA doesn't know that so his death will hit them the most.

@Nibs

And you were accusing the author of sexism? Uh-huh.

I surely hope that you are referring to Hawkeye in the films. There is plenty of potential for the character, provided Marvel actually take the time to exploit it.

@nibs - I don't know how to break this to you buddy but you are actually the character that dies in AOU. Yes folks sorry for the spoiler but Nibs will be killed off in in the climax of the movie. Its a new technology where they literally extract Nibs from his theater seat and obliterate him in front of the entire audience. It will be 4D for the audience members next to him but 3D for everyone else watching from all around the world. Aaaahhhh Marvel ceases to amaze in their strides for cinematic perfection...
