"During the past year there was an ongoing exchange with the production, that visited the region many times. Besides Bard, where the main unit will shoot, filming will take place also in Aosta, Donnas, Point-St-Martin and Verres, all locations chosen by Joss Whedon."
Meanwhile, reports surfaced earlier this week that The Avengers: Age of Ultron was also setting sights on South Korea. While Bruce Banner/Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo has declared that there are no plans "at the moment" to shoot in Korea ("although the Marvel universe is big"), the film's representatives apparently confirmed to both KDramaStar and Allkpop that it was deemed official. "At least 10 to 15 minutes of The Avengers sequel will take place in Gangnam and Gyeonggi-do. One of Korea's top production teams has already been chosen to work with the Hollywood film production crew." What neither of the two credible Korean sites could confirm was the other rumor mentioned that a Korean actress was being sought for a villain role involving the titular villain Ultron "waking up and wreaking havoc in the surrounding area."
