Comic book movie fans love to be recognized by the clever insertion of "insider" information into a scene, and smart directors know this only adds to the excitement and anticipation of their movie. Favs knows this, and apparently so does Joss Whedon.

I would just like to point this out.

This Trailer still...

Looks almost exactly like...

I don't Know if it was on purpose, or if it was just a coincidence. Either way it is pretty cool that they look similar.

Do you think it is a deliberate Easter Egg from Josh Wheldon, or is it just an Awesome coincidence?

It's not exactly the same as the cover but it's still a cool reference.

I'm sure there is plenty of stuff like that from Hawkeye, and Joss probably just did it on purpose. But an Easter Egg is a cameo of something (like the Infinity Gauntlet or Human Torch) in the movie. Having stuff taken almost out of the comic panel is great but not an Easter Egg. Please take this out of news and move it to features or editorials, and change the title a bit as well. Just trying to help.

I hope they do the sequence from The Ultimates where Black Widow jumps from one building to another, catches a rifle while doing so, then lands in the building and shoots the guys. that'd be epic.

that is pretty cool, hopefully in the movie they'll show him falling and shooting arrows more, so it looks more like the comics :)

i agree that it is cool but watch 300 and try finding all the similar "easter eggs" in that movie... It's not an easter egg, and it's hardly news.

Josh Wheldon really isn't getting enough credit for the work he is doing on this film.

Because people are just ignorant to their own knowledge, despite the fact that he has done TV shows, involved in other movies, a critically acclaimed show and movie under his own wing, and even has done work in the comic book industry (notably under Astonishing X-Men), Whedon is more than capable of pulling off a HUGE blockbuster success with THE AVENGERS.

Stop busting the guy's balls, huh people? Why is everybody just jumping for a chance to cry, "Not news" and other stuff? Geez Louise guys...

Anyway, that's really cool. Hopefully, the movie will be filled with these kinds of things. After all, the source material is what we want to see!

I'm going to go with deliberate. The Marvel movies have been sneaking in little things like this for the last few years now. No reason to think they'd stop once they got to Avengers.

Not an Easter Egg, as mentioned, but a cool find nonetheless. :-) Hawkeye is getting a bum rap by many here saying he is a lame character, but I think he is an excellent character. He was portrayed very well in Earth's Mightiest Heroes and saved the team's butts a number of times. You don't always have to have super powers to be able to contribute to a team.

coolest thing about this clip is the "grapple tip" at the end of the arrow. clearly he is going to catch his own fall. slick

@Ranger14 I couldn't agree more. Hawkeye was on of my favorites because of the fact he had no real "super" power and his witty attitude made him a quick fav of mine as well. I hope the movie does his character justice and we get more of him either in the SHiELD movie or his own solo flick. Great find even tho it's technically not an Easter Egg IMHO.

Nice find. You guys that are busting his chops need to chill. I for one will take any Avengers news I can get. Can't wait for May 4. Avengers will be AWESOME. ASM and DKR look good also, but I'm most waiting to hear the battle cry "Avengers Assemble".

I still find the Hulk too small, he shuold have been at least 8 and half ft tall but he is barely 7 ft.

Again Hawkeye lacks some eyegear, He is a marksman but human eyes has its own limitation. How is he supposed to take out targets farther than 100m?????

@Rango.....the clues in his name no? I'm guessing he has the eye of the hawk

He doesn't need any headgear. No eye wear in the original comics. Woooo for left handers. I'm sure Hawkeye is ambidextrous .
