“Gotham is in great danger when the government assembles a group of villains — code named the Suicide Squad — and forces them to break into Arkham Asylum to retrieve top secret information stolen by the Riddler. Things take a turn for the worse when one of the Squad members (Harley Quinn) frees the Joker, who is intent on blowing up Arkham Asylum and Gotham City. Batman must use his super hero wits and strength to thwart the wicked plans of the Joker and the Suicide Squad.”

Batman: Assault on Arkham is set for release on August 12th and sees Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) leading a voice cast that also includes Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger) as Deadshot, Troy Baker (The Last of Us) as Joker, Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds) as Riddler, CCH Pounder (The Shield) as Amanda Waller, Hynden Walch (The Batman) as Harley Quinn, Greg Ellis (24) as Captain Boomerang, and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Black Spider. Jay Oliva (Justice League: War) and Ethan Spaulding (Son of Batman) direct from a script by Heath Corson (Justice League: War).

I'd love to get my hands on those flashpoint books. Looking at a few panels I see the movie stuck close to the source material.

@Jollem I read the "The World of Flashpoint featuring Batman" which was just a solo Flashpoint Batman story. It was interesting to see how Thomas Wayne handled things as Bats and who the Joker turned out to be and why.

Flashpoint was their last good movie so I am skeptical.

What movie is that? I try to watch all the DC animated stuff.

@GiantNerd0720

That would be "The Flashpoint Paradox", it follows the Flashpoint storyline in the comics where Barry goes to an alternate timeline and a lot of things are different. Definitely a good watch, much better than JL:War.

@DIAMONDZ

I don't think they've announced yet or even given a prospective time (like Spring 2015 or something). Will probably be announced at Comic-Con during their DC Animated panels/Screenings.

I'm not excited about this at all. JL:War sucked, Son of Batman sucked, safe to say this will suck too. I'm not even saying that as a DCAU purist or anything, these past two movies have just been so shitty comparatively. At least we know the voice acting will be good with Kevin Conroy back. That new guy they had in War and SOB was horrible, they should've just gotten Roger Craig Smith to do it, especially since they brought on Tory Baker to do the Joker again.

Y I read it and some of the other titles along with the main flashpoint book, they changed a lot of things involving Superman and for some unknown reason felt like making Wonder Woman kill the child Bily Batson in the animated movie which of course she doesn't do because she's not a hertless bitch, but then again Superman killed here as well and it was also unneccesary.

"Alright I'll give War a shot too. Thanks."

JL:War was the animation of Geoff John's best at attempt at the Avengers of course am not a fan of his JL. JUst forget this New 52 crap and just animate Morrison's JL.

@GA1941:

Damn right. Morrison's Justice League was sooo much better than the recent crap. And I usually hate Morrison's DC stuff. Just replace Kyle and Wally with Hal and Barry and drop Plastic Man - I love him but there's no room - and you've got a perfect JLA movie.

Geoff Johns' Green Lantern was an all-time classic, but he doesn't have any clue how to handle Superman and Wonder Woman. These DC animated movies need really strong material to work off of and since the new Justice League is the Budweiser of comics, JL:War ended up Busch Lite.

They're really subpar when compared to other DC movies, but I'm sure you could find them online somewhere if you'd rather not waste the money and potentially hate it.

They should do The Rot, Snyder's Batman, Azzarello's WW and Earth-2 if they're using N52.

Also, JLW was an sinful abomination. One of the worst CBMs I have ever seen. Worse than Mos, worse than IM2. It's even worse than Catwoman! At least with that film I can LAUGH at how terrible it is. With JLW I am simply disgusted.
