It's a sad day for Batman fans, with WB Games announcing that the remastered
Batman: Return To Arkham set has been delayed indefinitely, citing "additional time" needed to complete the project.
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” said company representative Steve Grayson in a statement on the game's official forums.
“We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
The remastered collection was first announced in May, with an original release date of July 29. The box set is said to feature
"improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders", and comprises
Batman: Arkham Asylum and
Batman: Arkham City, along with all their associated DLC content and Game of the Year edition bonuses.
