It seems inevitable that Catwoman will be in the next Batman movie. Now that Rachel Dawes is dead, Bruce/Batman NEEDS a new love interest, and EVERYBODY wants to explore the complicated issues and sexual tension of a Bat/Cat romance...

The rumors came in quickly, right after the release of "The Dark Knight" in theaters.

First, there was that creepy rumor about Cher being Nolan's first choice. We all sighed in relief when that one was debunked.

Fans have been polled at various sites, and overwhelmingly pic Angelina Jolie as their fav for the part. Her name came up around the same time that Johnny Depp was rumored as The Riddler.

Well, now E! has started up the rumor mill all over again--claiming that Rachel Weisz of "The Mummy" might play the famous pussy. E! quotes "insider sources" at Warner Bros.

Judging from the pic to the left, I think she'd make a great Poison Ivy... Or she could appear simply as some sort of naked snake lady. I'd buy THAT for a dollar!

Ya know, i'm not truly interested in seeing another Catwoman. Just do Killer Croc and someone else...I just thought it was good for Batman Returns. But don't use Catwoman again...C'Mon, there's hundred of other characters to lend themselves to the Batman mythos.
I know this is supposed to be the "real world" where superpowered beings don't exist and what-not, but what about Clayface? I've ALWAYS wanted to see him on the big screen, I think that would be awesome. Clayface and Killer Croc. sweeeeet

Just make a third a final movie, save Gotham, Batman quits, the end.

I hope that if they do use the character, that they at least make it a short cameo... I don't know if I could stomach any more campy retreads of the same ol' cat purring, hand licking treatment that we've seen before!

Hahaha DrFever. It happened, you know it did. You watched it. HOWEVER, A COOL (no pun intended) Mr Freeze would be sweet. But, maybe Nolan thinks that's too far outside the realm of reality to do in "his" Batman universe.

He does..thats why catwoman is really the only cool villain left to use..the riddlers just a poor mans joker....deadshot could be good tho...

anyway i really want to see catwoman again, but a new take on her. her best origin story is that she was a prostitute and gets beat up by her pimp..too dark?

Rachel would make a great Catwoman, imo.
She is very alluring and sexy enough to pull off the hot brunette in the catsuit. I hope they can make this happen. I like this choice much better than Angelina Jolie.

yeah parascythe your right, she would be a great poison ivy. and poison ivy would make a great villain. uma thurman was truly abysmal in the role..but taking shots at batman and robin is like shooting fish in a barrel!

scarlett johannsen is too short, and as sexy as she is she doesnt have the right figure, i always think of catwoman as tall and sleek...but with a big rack! lol sorry kids i couldnt resist. basically halle berrys figure is perfect. maybe she will play the part..oh wait a minute...

mmm, maybe if they do the Michael Jackson treatment on Hale Berry? too bizarre? although she'd loose her nose. (somehow I feel we are being dangerously politically incorrect with this, and no I'm not racist either)

I don't care if Scarlett Johanson is too short, I want her to be in all movies, she exhudes sexyness unlike any other actress can. Coupled with Rachel Weisz, I'd spend all my life savings on movie tickets (even if David Boreanaz acts on said imaginary movie).

Kate Beckinsale... and she should play it as a European Aristocrat. In town and running in Bruce's circle. There should be some really hot scenes of her in the shower as she "removes a stolen item from her "Hiding Place" unnnnngh! thats what i'm talin bout!!!

I enjoy Rachel Weisz a considerable amount, but I do not think she is Catwoman. To me she seems like a submissive and sensitive type of woman. Also, the fact that Nolan isn't even keen on making the third makes all of the rumours a bit... well, silly.

for catwomen should be someone a bit more sporty and i don't know if its just me but i do remember catwomen having a great pair of fullgrown..."cough cough" kittens. I think the right term is puppies.

Catwoman shouldnt even be in Batman three nor the Riddler or any character thats already been a starring villian. Even though I really liked TDK when I first heard of them redoing the joker I didnt agree. I mean this is a reboot to the franchise right? Lets see Bane as the main villian. I mean he did break Batmans back. Team him up with Tailia al Guhl. Rachel Weis could play that part. She definitely has the look. She could start off looking for revenge against Batman not knowing he is Bruce Wayne with whom she falls in love. When she cant kill him Bane kills her and breaks Batmans back. Can anyone say Batman 4???? YES!!!!!

yeah but like you said, its a reboot..all characters are fair game for a new take. Especially the ones that wer handled badly first time around..which is all of them except catwoman and Nicholsons joker (although i prefered ledgers portrayal)

and bane was in batman and robin anyway! but i agree a proper bane would be a good villain

riddler: if he is trying to take over the syndicated crime ring that the joker (and harvey dent) left in shambles. and he is doing a jigsaw like thing to kill the rest of the mafia and mobsters

dead shot is not a movie vilian that could cary a story all on his own.

but bane is!!!!!!! bane would be so hardcore i think i would splooge everywhere!!! true that white bread!

as for catwoman.... i just don't want it!!

i do however thing that a sub plot with richard grayson (cuase calling him [wiener] is way too old school) would be awesome. but only if his is like 7 or 8. cuase anything else is kinda stupid.

You are right on point, as i was reading the posts i was thinking, "I can't believe nobody is saying BANE...."

C'mon Nolan, Break the Bats Back!!!!

Why does it seem like all the directors are scared to HURT the superheroes?? And i'm not talkin stab Superman with a piece of kryptonite.....gay.

I'm talkin, "KILL SUPERMAN!!! & and BREAK BATMAN'S BACK!!!" Can you see any possible way for the movie to flop if Nolan directed it?...and picture the teaser trailer......

Black screen and all you hear is a heartbeat...

Flashes of action scenes, then black, still the heartbeat...

Then, zooming out from Bane's face, "I AM BANE!! KING OF GOTHAM CITY!! and you see Batman get slammed down on Bane's knee...


Everyone in the world would go see that movie, ESPECIALLY the non hardcore fans cuz they would want to know, "What the F**k happened??"

Sound good??? Don't even get me started on the Death of Superman...

I like her. Maybe not as catwoman (although better than Angelina Jolie) but she still is good. I don't know. This movie, like most of you already said, would be too much of a reboot. And Nolan hasn't even talked about it yet. I would like a 'love interest' for Bruce in the next movie, but after this last one I'd have to say no go. No go for a sequel. At least give him several years to figure out all the kinks in a possible sequel (NOT ANOTHER SPIDERMAN 3). It could end up exactly like SM3. High expectation after a awesome sequel, then epic fail. As much as I hate the over use of the word 'epic', there can be no other words to describe it's 'sucktatiousness'. A sequel at this time is just too hard to come up with. Give him 3-6 years. Just don't think 1-2 years is enough.

Whoever is saying that you can't improve on Batman Returns' Catwoman, you should keep in mind that people were saying the same about The Joker.

I don't buy this shit, like Jolie she is rather obvious, and Nolan doesn't do 'obvious'. This is clearly made up to drum up interest. Look forward to so-called insider sources claiming that Rachel McAdams, Rhona Mitra, Kate Beckinsale et all are up for the role.

I don't like Weisz for the role, either. Thought she does wear a snake like no one's business, no sexist pun intended.

I think Catwoman would make a great villian, or a great physical adversary for Batman with someone else being the main villain. Just as long as she's written right, rather than be the token love interest.

I think that Jolie is far too sexy for this part ror. I think we need someone along the lines of this here lady Rachel Weisz is perfect. You can make her look really bad and you can make her look really good. Im sorry the only time i've seen Angie look close to bad was in bone collector.

i honestlyy dont know about who would be suitable for catwoman to be honest but i most deffenitly like to see Bane & Azrael in the 3rd moviee..and possibly bane breaking his back and throwin him off the building at the end to leave people guessin is batman dead?..and then make a spin off with Azrael as his replacement whilst he's injured to take revenge on Bane =]
