By now everyone has seen has seen the trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises." Frankly, most fans just want to fast forward to the release date of the film, as I know I do! The title indicates that this film will be an allegory, and I will explain why I believe this giving a few examples from what little we've seen thus far.

The film looks like it will be gorgeous in my opinion. The shots that we've been teased with show great vision. One thing I couldn't help but notice is that Wally Pfister and Chris Nolan have chosen to depict quite a few scenes from a vertically enhancing point of view. An example of this is the scene when the man jumps out of the window in trailer two, or when the men rappel down the hole. Also, if you have seen the (SPOILER AHEAD) prologue, when (HERE IT IS) the plane is being over taken by Bane and co., and the C-130 has inverted the smaller vessel. Everything taking place inside the plane deals with lowering and raising. For example, Bane dropping down on the seats to confront his foe. Or while Bane raises up, and then lowers body bag (with help). The aforementioned is also magnificent foreshadowing, as the body bag symbolizes death, as Bane would bring moments later. I think this scene generally shows what the movie is going to be about, that it will deal with contrast greatly. Furthermore, it shows that Batman will be dealing with someone who destroys everything under him through calculation that has end results with little efforts on his part; the click of a button to be exact.

Two other subtle examples, but noticeable occur in the trailer also. When the camera is looking down on Bruce, he is on his back, then a quick cut to Bane shows him above Bruce, symbolic of his position of inferiority. I like what is implied here, that Bruce is the underdog. Moments later however, We see Bane rising up the stairs in the same trailer, to face Batman. When they clash, the epic music plays, and Bane is on equal level with Batman, both fighting for their ideals.

In all, I think this film will be less spoon-fed than its predecessor. I believe that Nolan and Pfister will choose to speak to us through imagery. As you can tell, I am excited to see this film, and hope that you are ready for this action packed superhero summer as well!

Cheers!

The film's cinematography does look outstanding. Two words: WALLY PFISTER!!!! If the prologue is any indication of that statement, then the IMAX's part in TDKR will be unlike anything we have ever seen before.

@Deadpool threatened much?

I used to think there was blame to go all around for this stupid TDKR vs. Avengers fight, but it is becoming evident that there is far more blame to be placed on the Avengers fans. It's been a long time since I've seen a Batman related article where some person in favor of the Avengers has not jumped in to contribute some hate for the Nolan franchise. On the other hand I usually see the people who are defending the Batman movies aka "Nolanites" on the Avengers articles giving their fair share of praise and excitement for the movie. While I am generally not in favor of choosing sides in a pointless fight, the overwhelming amount of hate from the Avengers fanbase has taken them beyond being the victims of pretentious Nolanites and into complete douchebag territory.

While I am very excited to see the Avengers I am constantly reminded that the last decent Marvel movie I've seen is Ironman. Everything else has been mediocre at best. And I would not consider this under normal circumstances to be significant in terms of how good the Avengers might be, but it just so happens that they are all part of the MCU. They all share essentially the same type of humor, cliche dialog, and at some point the story goes to shit in favor of action. This of course does not mean that the Avengers will be the same, but it is a far better indication of the films quality than looking at Bane's appearance and saying "he looks nothing like the comic Bane, this movie is going to suck".

Just a reminder for those who enjoy bashing the Nolanites in their own articles that you do not stand on firm ground laughing at one franchise when your own movie has a far bigger mountain to climb in terms of reaching expectations.

Your opinion, I think all of the Marvel Studios were fantastic. Perhaps the greatest pieces of art I've ever seen.

@LoudNoises Then you haven't been to the IMDB boards have you lots and lots of Nolanite trolls run rampant on the Avengers boards. You are sorely mistaken if you dont think there are plenty of Nolanite trolls on this site to. Truthfully I am definitely seeing both movies at midnight I am much more excited to see Avengers mostly because I like Marvel better but am still psyched to see TDKR.

@Pesmerga44

I would never presume to say there weren't any Nolanite trolls anywhere to be found on any site. I would not even say that about this site which is the only one I'm really concerned with anyways. Obviously we all see them on here trolling from both sides of the fence. What I have began to notice and this could be a more recent phenomenon is that here the trolling has become much heavier from the Avengers side. I don't think this is disputable. Go to any Batman article, any of them! Scroll through the comments and I guarantee you can't scroll far without finding a few hateful comments very quickly. On the other hand, go to the Avengers articles and the hate is limited to maybe Captain America's helmet. And even those are far and in between. 90% of the battle grounds in this conflict can be found in the Batman threads because that's where they are started. It's like there was so much hate for the Nolanites that instead of avoiding them, they decided to invade Nolanville and burn all their houses down.
