The Twitterverse Is Angry At The MAN OF STEEL 2 Casting

People on twitter have been making their feelings known ever since the announcement that Ben Affleck is to play Batman in the upcoming Man Of Steel Sequel.

People took it to twitter ever since the revelation that the role of the caped crusader would go to Ben Affleck. It started off with simple amazement and dismay as people called into question Affleck's acting abilities to handle such a mighty role as Batman/Bruce Wayne and cited a previous superhero role he had, DareDevil, as evidence of his inability to act within the comic book genre as one of the lead characters.

This lead to the coining of the Hashtag Batfleck, a combination of Batman and Affleck. People quickly started posting their opinions:

Although Ben Affleck got support from friends on twitter, who poked fun and at the same time congratulated him,

It did not stop those who were less than pleased at hearing of the role being given to Affleck voicing their opinion. They started posting to the Hashtag #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck funny protest pics, as to who would be a better Batman than Ben Affleck.

Then there are those who took it upon themselves to create a petition which, they would hope, to be delivered to Warner Brothers in order to change their decision.

Stop hiring Marvel actors in your movies....

Anyway, nothing against him but I just don't see Bruce/Bats when I look at him. Maybe Daredevil will be the one to break the curse... Cause when Marvel actors go over to play in a DC movie, it doesn't work out very well for that movie, lol... And DC fanboys are already split over Man of Steel

@TelaVizion Because Marvel has done so many movies, all of the actors in hollywood have been in 1 or 2 already, Chris Evans is an example.

More like stop hiring WB token guys @telavision because Ben Affleck is WB token director/guy after Argo and the Town.

2003 Daredevil = Fox, pre-MCU

I bet he will nail it and people will eat their words just like they did with Heath Ledger. No matter who was to be cast as the role there would be hate from people who have in their minds who they want to play Batman and if it wasn't, they automatically hate it.

BTW, lower budgeted MCU films means Marvel need to use their brain to pick cheaper actors for their films. Hemsworth, Evans, Chris Pratt.

No papa's company like Disney or WB to hand famous actors in the role.

@JediPhilosopher
Why not? That's how I feel about people making the Daredevil argument.

@jimoakley
I'm sure he will have his fingers in it and suggest a few ideas to Snyder. At this point in his career I seriously doubt he would want to do it, unless the script/ story was great and he was involved behind the scenes as well in some way

Everyone else is. All I've heard is "he was terrible in Daredevil", "He destroyed Daredevil"....etc.
It would be a fair argument if that was recent but it was 10 years ago and they don't point out his recent stuff like The Town or Argo.

I have to say, to me he does have an ideal look for Batman. He has the strong Jawline, the cleft chin is a plus and he can grow that nice Batman-esque grisly beard

Haters are gonna hate why does dc get so much stick yet marvel do whatever they like and everyone sucks their dick, there are multiple universes with 1000s of different batmans cast and guess what? They're all the wrong choice.
