Check out this statement from a reporter over at nerdreactor.com for news on Cap showing up at Comic-Con...

"We posted about how Marvel Studios will be opting out of Hall H during San Diego Comic-Con 2011, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have other plans in mind when it comes to the biggest comic book convention in the world.

So I’ve just got the news from one of my reliable sources that Captain America: The First Avenger will be having a big presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. How big? Well big enough to have two of its main stars be there along with a special movie screening before the release of the movie. That’s right, Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving will be at San Diego Comic-Con 2011 for one day. The movie screening location is still unknown, but word on the street is that it will all happen on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10am. We’re not sure how fans will get a chance to attend, but it’s likely they might throw some sort of raffle to lucky Comic-Con goers.

Check back soon as we’ll find out more information about Captain America: The First Avenger at SDCC 2011."

This is a very good sign that the movie is good. That Evans and Weaving will be present for a screening in front of fanboys means they both think that the film will deliver the goods. Reynolds didn't show up for any pre-screening of GL and we know why.

Man it'd be awesome to see it early!

@Kolossus, huh? Why did you attack Reynolds? Your diss was so stupid lol. A completely different company made GL... when has DC or Warner Bros ever copied Marvel or vice versa? This is the first I've heard of Marvel doing something like this, let alone any studio. Just cause you personally didn't like GL, doesn't mean it has ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE UPCOMING Marvel panel/raffle at COMIC-CON. This is you- "Oh Daniel Craig and H. Ford didn't show up to last year's Comic-Con because they KNEW that the movie will suck and bomb". Stupid logic at its best. People like you make me pull my hair out but yet also entertain me with how out of condex you people can be. "He didn't sign some kid's autograph on a GL picture, cause he KNEW it would bomb!" lmao. That's you. You're ridiculous.

FYI KOLLOSSUS-

It doesn't say Weaving and Evans will be at the special screening, it's just clarifying that they will be at Comic-Con (the convention). It added that Marvel is ALSO doing some type of screening. It was just worded weird and when you read it fast, you can interpret it as they are attending both events, but they're not. Unless they are showing it in some room at the convention and they typed it wrong by accident.

A bad joke. Is clever disses or "jokes" hard to come by these days? People's insults are just so stupid sounding lol.

@Vital
The joke was mostly a tounge-in-cheek humor. He is merely making uses of the fact that Green Lantern was panned by the critics and most Marvel and DC fans rage against each other; even though the movie was good and not all Marvel fans entirely hate DC movies.

@BigK, I got the "joke" but it was still a terrible one. It wasn't even funny. Your explanation is better than his entire comment lol. But I didn't get what you said from what he said. You made sense in yours. There is no argument to be had against yours, ya know? Whereas his just sounded like every other type of troll sentence that digs under your skin cause it's so ridiculous and not needed to be said. People didn't like GL, we GET IT ya know lol.

@Vital Ford and Craig DID show up at Comic Con last year. GL wasn't screened for critics and that is usually a sign that the studio doesn't have a lot of confidence that the movie is any good. The movie was released and guess what - the consensus is that it isn't very good.
I've been to the last 10 Cons and if a studio is holding a screening AT Comic Con, there is about a 99.9 percent chance that the stars will be in attendance. I don't remember ANY big budget screening of a film where the stars weren't in attendance.
