It's quite funny, Archie comics actually were my very first comics. I got them from my cousins when we visited my aunt in Canada. Being German and 5 years old at the time I couldn't read them at all, but I liked them and could still visualize a lot of the panels many years later.

I found those old Archie comics in a forgotten box full of some old stuff of mine when I helped my parents move two years ago, and it was so bizarre finally reading them more than two decades after I got them.

I might have to start reading this reboot when it's out...! :)

Haha, nice, I can imagine, my first comics were Wolverine: Weapon X, Spider-Man, and Batman, I think, I remember Weapon X being one of my first

One of my friends brought some Archie comics to the beach one summer and they were hilarious, haha. I remember that I was actually surprised that there were real stories and characters in those comics too. I still haven't read the Punisher: Archie comics, but I want to check them out

@DrKinsolving

When I started with superheroes comics in the early 90s my first were X-Men, and that love lasted quite a long time. Batman and Spider-Man followed, and later solo Wolverine. Aside from those regular titles I was especially fond of crossovers and team-ups.

It's a shame though, when I look back now at the translated comics I read when I was younger I realize how much of the stuff there was originally didn't even make it to us. And the translations were... well, at times simply horrible. Not that I knew that then.

When I look at the comic shelves today I kind of wish I could be that young and excitable again. :D

Archie/Punisher and Archie/Predator really do sound like things one should read.

I can imagine man, the translations must have been a lot different. And, totally, I was in awe when I first read the X-Men, Spider-Man and Batman comics, those were definitely my introduction.

I think the closest I've gotten to that "young and excitable" feeling has been the recent comic book movies, especially the Marvel/MCU stuff. DC rocks, but the Marvel movies really capture the essence of the comics, I've definitely been giddy watching those movies in the Theatre before, haha

Can't wait for more

Same here, pretty much. The MCU is such a fun... thing! Especially Guardians had me hyped and excited like few other movies in the last years.

The MCU actually has one big advantage for me compared to most other CBM projects: I know relatively little about the characters they use, because while I have of course met them before in the comics I'm not too familiar with them and they don't mean much to me before the movies. Captain America for example was never a character I was particularly interested in, and he's one of my favourites in the MCU now.

It saddens me how much hate and bickering we have on this site, and especially the negativity towards the MCU is sometimes hard to understand for me. But I guess people are so stuck in their little company power fantasies that it will go on like this for a long time.

I'm curious as to wether the rise of the DCCU (DCEU sounds weird to me) will lead to a complete breakdown on this site, with every article becoming even more of a burning wasteland, or if people on all "sides" will finally be able to calm down and just enjoy what they enjoy, with the possibility of civil and respectful discussion of the things they might not enjoy.

My two most anticipated CBMs to come are GOTG Vol.2 and hopefully someday a Superman solo movie that I can love, so more power to everyone!

Totally, can't wait for GOTG 2 and Civil War, Spider-Man, even all of the Netflix shows, then there's stuff like Doctor Strange which will be awesome, I'm really hyped for Ant-Man too.... and Infinity Wars, Jesus, haha, so much to look forward to

Captain America is definitely one of my favorite characters in the MCU, I love the dynamic between Cap and everybody else, and how he really is this "man out of time" Marvel nailed the essence of Cap.

I can't wait for the DCCU too, B v S and SS look cool. I liked MOS, but the only gripe I have is how dark they made Supes. It was cool, but in the comics I always loved the contrast between "Light" Superman and "Dark" Batman. Kind of like how they play the Iron Man and Cap relationship in the MCU, which they play perfectly. I still think the DCCU will be cool though

I think "The Flash" movie has a lot of potential, I think that could be amazing

And, yeah, the constant DC vs Marvel stuff and the way people approach the arguments is just sad, I can't imagine what this site will be like in a few years

@DrKinsolvig

Yeah, lots and lots of great stuff on the horizon, big screen and small! And even if one doesn't like certain things... there's so much more to choose from than any of us would've dreamed of 10-15 years ago, everyone should find something they like.

I agree about MoS. I liked it, more or less. Better than any Superman movie to date. Still there were certain things that bothered me greatly, traumatized aimless Clark being one of them. I wish he'd had a bit more of that

and a little less of that

in his life before becoming Superman. But I'm cautiously optimistic for the the future of Ca-Vill. ;)

And yes, there's a lot of promising stuff coming in terms of DC movies. I'm not yet sold on all of the major casting choices, but there are trailers for a reason. I just can't get hyped for BvS atm. Maybe I never will. Still going to watch opening day, though.

So, been nice talking to you! I'm off to bed now. :)

Totally, I still don't really get the whole aftermath of the Trucker scene either.... And, I really don't like how Snyder has been talking in recent interviews.

I mean, this is in his movie, how did people explain this, in reality, how does this happen? Not to mention all of the safety risks and everything too, I was like, that's cool, but is that Superman....

But, I liked MOS, I can't wait for the rest of the DCCU though

And, Yes!!

This clip still gets me
