COMICS: SUPERMAN Gains A New Earth Shattering Power In SUPERMAN #38

Ever since DC's New 52 reboot more emphasis has been put on the man rather than the super when it comes to Superman but that looks to be set to change. Hit the jump to check out our first look at the blue and red boyscout's mysterious new power!

DC's New 52 Superman has never quite matched up to his pre-Flashpoint counterpart when it comes to power and strength (well, except for that time he turned into Doomsday!) but that might all be about to change. Check out a number of incredible panels from Wednesday's Superman #38 and get a glimpse of the Man of Steel's earth shattering mystery power!

While it might seem useful when facing off against foes such as Darkseid or Doomsday, Superman is far from pleased with his new power. Speaking with USA Today writer Geoff Johns had this to say, "It's definitely the most destructive power Superman has and he's not exactly excited about it because it is so dangerous and there are consequences."
The Man of Steel appears to be in for an eventful number of months with the latest issue promising a "new costume, new powers, new friends and enemies".
What do you think of the explosive new addition to Superman's powers? Have you been following the book and if not have the upcoming changes convinced you to take a look? Sign off your thoughts below! Superman #38 arrives in stores on Wednesday.

A new year brings a new power and a new look from the epic team of Geoff Johns, John Romita Jr. and Klaus Janson in the extra-sized conclusion of their first arc! The showdown between Superman and Ulysses will push the Man of Steel to new extremes – and Superman’s new look is revealed as Clark Kent tells his true identity to one of the cast. Plus a surprise guest-star!

I'm talking about what if the DCCU's is already laid out, and DC wants the comics to reflect some elements

No harm in trying, right?

It's been far too long, between being swamped with school work and being beaten to the punch by editors it seems like an eternity!

As for the power itself, letting him fire off all his solar energy like an atom bomb is a pretty cool thing to add. I especially like that he's left powerless after using it.

Now people will complain about the comics following the movies again. The comics Supes is becoming the mass murderer Zach Snyder brought to life.

What do you mean, he only killed Zod, which had been done before in the comics and by Reeves Supes.
I don't know where you're getting mass murderer from.
