2010 Transformers Special Edition Chevy Camaro Unveiled

Today at Comic-Con, General Motors officially announced the 2010 Chevy Camaro Transformers Special Edition. The $995 appearance package can be applied to LT (V6) and SS-trim Camaros in Rally Yellow with or without the optional RS package.

So, whadda ya get for the dough? It's very straightforward:

* Autobot insignia fender badges and wheel caps
* An embroidered Autobot insignia on the center console
* Gloss-black rally stripes with Transformers logos
* Transformers-logo doorsill plates

If you were hoping for more, such as the Z/28 fascia and hood, the storm drain-sized exhaust outlets used on Bumblebee in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, or, say, an actual robot mode, you're outta luck. There are no performance upgrades, either -- you'll simply have to make do with the 304, 400, or 426 horsepower that comes standard, depending on which base config you select. If you desperately want your own Bumblebee but are turned off by the whole Transformers brand-mania thing, you can still do the obvious thing and order up a regular Rally Yellow car and simply add plain black rally stripes for $470.

Looks cool anyways, how I'd wish to own any sort of Chevy Camaro.. Read the rest of the article at Autoblog.com, there's a few more pic too!!

I can't afford a camaro so I turned my 09 Matrix into a transformers car by slapping a chrome Autobot emblem in the front grill it's tight.

I really try not to get political on comic book sites and sorry for this, but I just couldn't ignore superdog's comment. I am appalled by those Americans who are choosing to abandon America's automobile industry and I will safely bet that most of those same types of people fervently and exclusively bought American in the past, simply because "the feds stepped in." That is a direct action to fight against the economic recovery of the country and the policies of the government. That claptrap about the principles of capitalism is an insult to the intelligence of anybody with half a brain. Decisions like that aren't capitalist, they are political and completely unpatriotic. The vehicles haven't changed, in fact they've improved.

Does it turn into bumblebee?

Teabag, if Superdog hadn't admitted why he made the change, then you may have an argument. Alas.....

Teabag, don't try to obfuscate the main issue here. The issue is simply that some people who usually bought American cars (and you know that there are people that are /were Ford for life, Chevy for life etc., especially in the more rural areas) are all of a sudden saying I want a foreign car. Their decisions have nothing to do with the price or quality of the car, or some other supposed capitalist principle. They used to buy American when they were more expensive and clearly of inferior quality. Their decisions are simply to send a message to a government that they detest. Freedom of choice yes, capitalist no. If it's a freedom of choice issue, fine, then they should just admit that they are choosing to be unpatriotic and handicap America's economic recovery because of their political beliefs. We all know of the right wing radio people that asked for a boycott of GM and Chrysler i.e. further jeopardising the jobs of innocent GM and Chrylser employees, as well as the many companies which do business with GM and Chrysler. I was very disappointed that this radio coup d'etat wasn't covered more by supposedly left wing press.

I meant to say "Dodge for life" and not "Ford for life" in my second sentence.

Teabag, I agree, let people do what they want, but they should just be honest about why they're doing it. Either way, you got my gist, I was pretty clear. Obfuscate...I know that you're just being facetious and know what it means.

I believe I was honest. I currently own a BMW as they r the ultimate driving machine. I was going to bu the camaro cause it looked awesome. And yes I changed my mind specifically cause the government took over the company. I don't care if they make the best cars in the history of the world it is not the goverents job to make them. It is the private sectors job. That IS 100% a capitist view point. I believe people should buy what they want and car companies should make whatever cars they want. If you think it has to d with economic recovery and not goverent usurping the free market and individual liberties then buy a gm. I believe capitalism rules so I will buy a german car..........and I agree with teabag... What does obstricate mean?

Superdog, I'm pretty well versed in most of the various economical, financial, social and political theories so I won't bother arguing about objective capitalist rational vs. subjective political rationale. Everybody's said their two cents, I'll leave well enough alone. I'm pretty sure that you also know what obfuscate means, so on that note back to the comics.

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the newest douche of the day:

CHEESEY1!

The fact of the matter is this: When it comes to the American Auto industry, it's fallen apart. And it has been on the decline since the late 1970's. Japanese, German, and Austrian engineering have simply been superior. Part of what makes this nation America is that people have the right to pick superior quality goods. Were we to only buy American cars on the principal that they were American, it feeds into the thought that the American Motor Companies can just continue to pump out crap cars.

Now I'm a person who bleeds the flag. I LOVE capitalism. But I know what happens when capitalist thought becomes sheer greed. Happened prior to the Great Depression, and happened again in the auto industry, the housing industry, and, of course, the lovely world of fuel, just to name a few.

Late 70's saw a rise of poorly made, costs too much for their worth cars. Americans bought them for the principle of being American made, and the money started reinforcing the thought that they don't have to improve the quality of their products. Hence finding coke bottles INSIDE the door paneling of Ford pickups, among others.

American made isn't always FOR American.

Teach these companies a lesson.
