Marvel Studios returned to San Diego Comic-Con last year after a missing out on 2021 due to the pandemic, and made some major announcements for future Phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans were hoping for more of the same during this year's event, but The Wrap has now confirmed that Marvel will be skipping its Hall H presentation - where first looks at upcoming movies and TV shows via trailers and posters usually debut - and focus all attention on the convention floor.
So, while we may still see a poster or two and maybe learn a little more about some planned projects, we probably won't be getting any significant news regarding Fantastic Four, X-Men or any other highly-anticipated MCU films.
The ongoing WGA strike and potential SAG-AFTRA strike seem to be at least partially responsible, as they make it very difficult for actors/directors/writers to do any kind of promotion for their projects. The reports also mentions that Universal and HBO will also most likely sit out SDCC this year.
We don't know if Warner Bros./DC Studios will have a presence, but if the Screen Actors Guild strike does go ahead, there's a good chance we'll also be crossing them off the list.
San Diego Comic-Con will take place the weekend of July 21.
