A tweet from Deadpool's Creator Rob Liefeld may lead people to believe that the solo movie touted for Wade Wilson starring Ryan Reynolds may be in some trouble..

In his tweet Liefield writes

"Warner Bros. just trying to protect their investment. They don't want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern. Interesting 2 watch"

So since Green Lantern will be made into a Trilogy this could mean the Deadpool movie wont happen.

i think it actually will, if first class bombs, then it won't revert the rights back to marvel until if/when wolverine 2 goes through,
their last hurrah could in fact be deadpool.
as of now it doesn't matter, we'll have to wait till like 2016 for a good ol' fashioned x-men flick again.
here's to patience.

Green Lantern trumps Deadpool any day, so I'm fine with this. There are so many other characters that deserve their own solo movie way before Deadpool anyway. Hello, Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Black Panther, anyone?

if fox can't deliver what they promised,the rights might end up back with marvel studios & that will be f*cking amazing.

Ah. So stealing actors and directors is DC's strategy to defeat Marvel in the film market.

I was kind of hoping their plan would instead involve, y'know, the Justice League or something.

Sean William Scott... just cast him. no one will know except for us that that was "deadpool" in the wolverine movie so just recast him. he's going to wear a mask the whole time anyway. Sean William Scott would do better than Ryan Reynolds anyway, even tho he's cool.

Yes it will, don't worry, if Ryan Reynolds doesn't do it, it is because he is greedy and a fool! I could care less who plays Deadpool, Why don't they just pay a random bum to play him, with the mask on 100% of the time, with one of the guys who did the voice over in the games voice over the bum, is that not the way to go,also If Rodriguez doesn't direct he is a dumbass!! Fox already gave him the script did they not? R-Rated Please!!!!!!

Well, Reynolds is perfect for the role of Deadpool and unless he's signed a contract that'll keep him too busy to make it, I dont see how WB can stop him. Either way, Fox will probably just [frick] it up so I'm not too bothered either way! :P Quite honestly, after the recent awful, and far too frequent, comics Marvel have been churning out featuring the character I'm starting to hate Deadpool anyway!

Why dont they just not take a different actor for Deadpool. Probably a lot of different actors that could to that crazy merc. I dont mean to sound harsh or anything but I would just love it if WB/DC played hardball. I cant wait for the Green Lantern movie next summer, and the next GL after that! If I were Reynolds I would just focus on GL instead of Deadpool. Way more iconic character, no offence. Now I gotta go watch Ace Ventura 2!

Which one is more well known: Green Lantern or Deadpool? No brainer there

Ryan was Wade Wilson for how long in X-Men Origins and they thought it was good enough for a spin off, what 5 minutes maybe?

It comes down to this mainly, which film more than likely pays more? I dont know how much WB paid Ryan for GL, but I would say it would be between 10-15 million to wear the ring and don the suit and domino mask plus who knows how much of a percentage of gross and revenue from the film and t-shirts, toys, video game etc. Plus who knows how much sequels make. If I were Ryan, I would stick with GL, its job security, and also who knows about JLA.

Make it on a limited budget for around 30 million like Kick Ass. Make it R rated and concentrate on the humor.

Ok, ok... just a thought. Maybe some OTHER actor could play Deadpool. Its the CHARACTER, STORY, & EFFECTS (Wolverine- i lookin at you on all 3 counts). not the actor (completely)

Good, they should recast Deadpool. Deadpool needs to be hideously scarred, when you hire an actor like Ryan Reynolds or Sean Willian Scott then you get tempted to contrive some reason to show their real faces (which would predictable and lazy be some 'curing the scars' story, where at the end his scars have to come back and return to the status quo)

Ryan could just voice Deadpool no problem. He can probably do that by phone within a day. Get somebody like who Doug Jones (and Ray Park to an extent) used to be, somebody who's profession is pretty much not showing his face. Like that guy who played the new Jason and Predator. They don't need to show his face constantly if there apparently trying to be "faithful".

Doesn't surprise me a bit. It's not hard to understand that the respective film companies wouldn't want the same actor playing different lead comic book hero characters at the same time. I would think Deadpool will be tabled or they will have to go after another actor. Doesn't break my heart either way.

Green Lantern is the only DC hero I like and I would boycot it in a second if WB causes RR not to star in Deadpool. Ryan has already helped with the script and for him to pull out would destroy any hope of this movie being made in the next ten years.

Sean William Scott might not be a bad choice. If Ryan stays with GL and Deadpool was to be made in the meantime, then I'd say go with SWS. He's the next logical choice after Ryan IMO.

I thought Ryan helped with the Script!!!! this would side line the movie...Right now with Deadpools popularity and the amount of comic titles he has...its time to strike while the Iron is Hott. But I do agree SWS is a good 2nd choice but anything after RR is better sweet. I really wish he wasnt the GL that a role that could have been played by anyone

it's easy enough for an actor to get out of a contract, Lee. It's been done plenty of times. The more that Fox puts thought into, the less they may want Reynolds playing the part, being he is going to be one of the DC/WB poster boys for the next 5+ years.

I just can't see Scott playing Deadpool, but can't really say I care that much either.
