Eva Green Is The Next Star In Talks For Tim Burton's DUMBO Reboot

Not too long ago, we started hearing that Will Smith was in talks to star in Tim Burton's live-action reboot of the 1941 animated classic, Dumbo. We also heard that Tom Hanks was in talks to play the villain. Well, Smith droppedout of negotiations and there's been no word on Hanks. According to the Twitter of Variety reporter, Justin Kroll, Chris Pine was offered the lead role but the deal fell apart last weekend. However, yet another star is in talks to join the project: Eva Green.

This wouldn't be the first time Green and Burton have worked together, as she starred in two other Burton films, Dark Shadows and Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. The former was panned, while the latter got mixed-to-positive reveiws. However, Green was praised for her performances in both films.

So far, there has been no details on her possible role, but Deadline states that it's one of the 'three main adult roles'. The other two roles being offered to Hanks, Pine, and Smith. It's a safe bet to assume she might be playing the love interest of the character Smith had turned down. It's also been said that the movie is moving closer and closer toward a production date.

It's also been said that if Green accepts this part, her lesbian love affair drama about Virgina Woolf and Vita Sacksville-West, which costars Gemma Arterton, Virginia and Vita, will have to be pushed back. We heard similar things when the news of Smith broke and that if he accepted the Dumbo role, Bad Boy For Life would be pushed back. While Smuth turned down the role, the release date for that movie wash pushed back by 10 months. So who knows?
